This year we will be hosting two new events in our dis-trict. We will be “Connecting the K’s” with our Kiwanis Family Day at Georgia Tech. This event is also an amaz-ing fundraiser for the Eliminate Project! $5 of every ticket sold will be credited to that clubs fundraising goal for the Eliminate Project. We will also be host-ing a Key Club Day at the Capitol! Students will have the opportunity to meet their legislature and tour the capitol.

Since 1989 Georgia Key Club has had an amazing partenership with the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes. This is an orga- nizatio that takes in abused and neglected children across the state. Sponsorship by the Georgia Sheriffs Department and state fund-ing cover some needs, but not all. Georgia Key Club Members have built buildings, created picnic areas, and donated items for the past 25 years. This year we continue “Living the Legacy” as we expand on the Learn- ing Center at the Pineland Campus in LaGrange, GA. This campus is an all boys campus and also has camp facilities for church groups and childrens’ groups. In 1999 Key Club-bers built the Learning Center on the campus as a place for their offices and meetings. Since then the Pineland Campus has grown by leaps and bounds and in 2009 we were approached about expanding the center. Key Club is raising $150,000 to com-plete the expansions on this center and we are already halfhay there! We had the ground breaking for the center June 1st and it will be completed very soon! We still have $70,000 left to go to finish the project so continue to fundraise!!!

Host Fundraisers to meet 400 Dollar Club Goal- i.e. Penny wars, duct tape a teacher to the wall.

Growth is important to every club. Here are some tips to ensure your club success in the next year.

-Host a membership drive- let it be open to anyone and offer some form of food like pizza

-Have a school wide assembly and talk about Key Club-Set up an informational table at lunch where club officers can sit and sign up new

members-Encourage past club members to bring one friend to the first meeting!

MONDAY, NOV. 4Show your K in every way—Show people what Key Club is all about! Spread the word by

wearing Key Club gear and publicizing Key Club Week.

TUESDAY, NOV. 5Kudos to the Key players. Personally thank all the Key Club supporters you know—teach-

ers, advisors and other Key players.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 6Connect the Ks—Key Club is the largest high school service organization in the world and

is a member of the Kiwanis family. Connect with local Kiwanis family for a project.

THURSDAY, NOV. 7Bring a friend to Key Club—More members = more service. Increasing the amount of ser-

vice Key Club performs increases the impact Key Club has on the world.

FRIDAY, NOV. 8Your way—This is your club’s chance to do its own thing and make its mark. Pick a project,

plan a recruitment party or combine activities.

It is that time of year again! Dues are due November 1st to receive the Early Bird Dues Award and the final date to turn them in is December 1st.

Dues fund district board meetings, international publications, the YOF Grant, and so much more!

Dues are $13 per member To pay dues visit http://www.keyclub.org/dar.aspx

If you are having trouble accessingthe membership update center call 1-800-Kiwanis.

The Youth Opportunites Fund is a grant provided by 50 cents per ever mem-ber dues. It is the largest secret in Key Club International. The grant is open for

any clubs, in good standing, who applies for a service project, but does not have the funds to complete it. The application is due October 15th and can be

found at http://keyclub.org/service/fund/yof/yofgrant.aspx.

The Key Ring is our bi-monthly district publication that highlights clubs around our district. Articles need to be sent to Bulliten Edior, Paul Hwang. The Key Ring will be uploaded to the Georgia Key Club Webiste. We love to feature clubs, so send in articles. If you turn in an article for every edition of the Key Ring your

club will be reconized at District Convention.

Trick or Treat for UNICEf is a fundraiser that clubs can participate in to raise money for The Eliminate Project. Clubs can be creative with this fundraiser and maybe host a fall festival with it or even make a competition between classes or club members. If your

school has participated in Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEf in the past they will automatically re-cieve boxes to participate again. If your club has not participated n the past, but would

like to visit www.trickortreatforunicef.org/order and order boxes for your club today!

They are the middle school (Builder’s Club) and elementary school (K-Kids) ver-isons of Key Club. Your Key Club can greatly benefit by sponsoring one, because

those members will grow up and hopefully become members of your club. A Key Club can sponsor both of these clubs without the help of a Kiwanis Club!

Key Club Members can complete service projects with the other clubs and act as mentors to the younger members of the Kiwanis Family. To find out more about

chartering a Builders Club or K-Kids visit kiwanisone.org today!
