Mostly men and sometimes women chew Beetle nuts in the afternoon to keep them awake at work.

Most of the Burmese people are Buddhist. They pray in the morning and in the night. People put cups of water and some flowers to the Buddha either to wish or to do dana.

People especially women thinks that thanaka will make them fragrant and beautiful.
