Understanding prepositions

Prepositions are followed by

Preposition of Locations
“Location” means where someone or something is.
“At” and “In”
“At”: The general place, a point.
at school, at the theater, at the beach…
“In”: an area, a place with limits.
in New York, in a swimming pool, in the box…

We use this to mean that someone or something is touching a surface. It means NOT IN and NOT UNDER.
