Our new criteria – your organisation

•Registered Charity

•1 year track record of delivery

•1 year of published accounts

•At least 3 Trustees

•Income between £25,000 and £1m

•Free reserves less than 12 months expenditure

•Must work mainly in England and Wales

Our new criteria – the people you work with

You must work with people aged 17 years of age and over who are experiencing at least one of the following issues:

• abused or are at risk of abuse

• ex-offenders or those at risk of offending

• long term unemployment

• moving to independent living

• with addictions

• refugees and asylum seekers

• with mental health issues

• with severe financial difficulty as a compounding disadvantage

• victims of sexual exploitation

• homeless

• young parents

• carers

You must work with people experiencing multiple disadvantage at a critical point in their life.

Offending- On release or prior to release from prison- At start or on completion of a community sentence

Children leaving the care of a local

authority to live independently

- On leaving local authority care

People moving from community based or institutional care for

mental health

- On leaving institutional care- Moving on from or reduction in support from Community Mental Health

Homelessness/vulnerably housed

- From a position of having no accommodation (or being vulnerably housed)

Unemployment- From a period of unemployment at least six months

To independent living for those with a learning disability

- On leaving the care of the family home or a residential establishment

From dependency on alcohol, drugs and

gambling

- At the point when an individual decides to break or reduce their dependency

From an abusive or exploitative relationship

– domestic violence, trafficking, sexual

exploitation

- When an individual decides to remove themselves from or assert themselves within an abusive relationship

You must work with people experiencing multiple disadvantage at a critical point in their life. Examples:

To UK settlement – refugees and asylum seekers

- From the point of arrival in the UK or on granting of refugee status

To parenthood for young parents

- For young parents aged under 21 on becoming parents

Those taking on caring responsibilities

- At the point of taking on the long term caring of a friend or relative- At the point of transition from a long term caring situation

• Hospitals, health authorities, hospices• Rescue services• Schools, colleges, universities• Animal charities

Will support core or project costs

Must meet focus on multiple disadvantage and transition

Must meet at least one of the Transition Outcomes and at least one of the Progression Outcomes

Must have systems in place to monitor outcomes

Transition Outcomes: Have not reoffended

Progression Outcomes: Improved self/esteem, improved basic skills,

Support provided : trustee training and support around developing a new business plan

Enable Outcomes : Improved Leadership / Governance and Improved Strategic Planning A charity provides practical

support, accommodation and work experience for homeless people.

Must be in receipt of either an Invest or an Enable grant.

Support is optional

A range of tailored support to help to strengthen the effectiveness of those we

fund in reaching disadvantaged people

Support Providers include: Lloyds Banking, Cranfield Trust, School for Social

Entrepreneurs, Triangle Consulting, independent consultants
