1. 6 - logotype / underlining the logo
The logo is enhanced by adding a line. This version exists in different formats and sizes. The lines are placed horizontally at the bottom of a document or vertically at the side at which the pages will be bound or folded. They are also used to separate between picture and text (for example on a poster).
A second grey line can further underline the logo to detach it from the white background.

Profile and ObjectivesThe Laboratory on Process Engineering has been active in particular in the investigation of new forms of energy production based on renewable resources. A strong emphasis is given to the potential associated to the use of biomass for energy production. The research combines numerical simulation with experimental testing. Results have already been used for the construction of a pilot plant for the production of biogas from energy crops (e.g., corn and gramineous).
• Development of technological basics for an optimal fermentation of energy crops
• Testing of capacity and efficiency of energy crops for energy production
• Investigation and modelling of the kinetic of degradation
• Optimisation of the design of the fermenter

Research project Effect of incoming substrate composition on anaerobic biodegradability and process kinetics of energy crops - model development and up-scale application
This project addresses the significance and importance of appropriate substrate characterisation, with the use of alternative methods. It will also help to understand microbial dynamics in modelling the anaerobic processing of energy crops.
