All the important decisions were made at the ekklesia. The most important place of Athens is the Agora. Athenian girls did not go to school. In richer families they might have a

tutor at home, he teachs them to read, write,to play music and sing. Only the boys takes part in sports and exercices. The basic clothes of the poor Greeks was made from a very coarse

THE RELIGION OF THE GREEKS

The religion of the ancient Greeks was polytheistic. The gods each had a sphere of influence (eg poseidon on the sea.) Or adherence to a locality (eg Athena to Athens), often both.

To the rest of the twelve great Olympian gods, there were later incorporations of Eastern deities, especially females such as Cibeles and Isis, who acquired great frequency.

The precious olive gift of Athens to the cities thanks to which managed to frustrate the aspirations of its rival Poseidon turned Athens into the indisputable lady of Attica.
