GREEN INITIATIVES

  The Energy S.O.P. is updated twice a year in order to reduce electrical and thermal consumption.

  Thermal Plant Contract – Worked with Conectiv Thermal on changing a fixed HW/CW temperature in the contract to have the ability to change the HW/CW temperatures in order to reduce energy usage.

  Lighting Retrofits – Changing T12 to T8 Lighting fixtures to reduce KWH usage, NJ Smart Start Energy Rebates received $23,000 last year.

  Door projects – new door and air curtain installations.

  Power factor electrical upgrades – Electrical Capacitor replacements for power factor correction.

  Replacing Outdoor Marquee on Pacific Ave. with LED video display.

  Fuel reduction – Changed the retransfer back to normal power from to 30 minutes to 5 minutes. Also, on public bid openings, the results are emailed rather than requiring the bidder to travel to the facility.

ENERGY CONSERVATION

RECYCLING   Paper, cardboard: 45,180 lbs.

  Glass, Plastic, Aluminum, Bottles & Cans, Shrink Wrap: 3.38 tons

  Lamps, Ballasts, Batteries: 3,767 lbs.

  Wooden Pallets: 2,043 lbs.

  Carpet: 47,198 lbs.

  Electrical Equipment: 5,574 lbs.

  Computers: 2,881lbs.

  Excess Building Materials

  Show Materials Landscaping: Installed at the facility as part

of Landscaping improvements.

  Recyclable replacement cartridges on soap dispensers.

  Printer cartridges

OPERATIONS GREEN PRODUCTS

  Hand vacuums, floor mats, toilet paper, paper towels, hand towels, air fresheners tissues and foam soap.

  Office paper and printer cartridges.

  Solar Photovoltaic Panels: Power purchase agreement to produce approximately 26% of annual electrical consumption.

  Atrium Ceiling Fans: $80,000 Capital, Estimated $80,000 thermal savings per year.

  BW Hall Lighting retrofits.

CURRENT PROJECTS

ACCC ROOF PLAN 6

  Installation of steam shutoff and pressure reducing valves on the radiant heating system: $300,000 Capital, Estimated $100,000 thermal savings per year.

  Wind turbine: $2,000,000 Capital cost to produce approximately 16% of annual electrical consumption. Feasibility study is currently being performed.

  Continue with T8 and T5 lighting retrofits throughout entire facilities.

  Replace ACCC outdoor marquee display.

  Replace Truss lighting at BW Hall with LED lighting.

  Water conservation projects such as the waterless urinals.
