Psalm 107:1. This is just one verse of many in the bible that talk about giving thanks or thanksgiving. I thought this be appropriate to share with the holiday of Thanksgiving coming next week. It is a scheduled me in our countrys calendar to stop and give thanks. We as Chrisans take it a step further. We know who to give thanks too, God. All that we have is a blessing and giſt from God and when we receive giſts it is customary to say thank you. Many of the people around the United States dont know who to give thanks too. As we are Gods workmanship we can share that story of who to give thanks too. May all of your celebraons and family gatherings next week be a me to say thank you God for all the blessing you have given us. May our Lord connue to bless all of you as you serve Him! Are you an experienced knier who would like to have fellowship with other kniers? Join the Green Park Kning Club! Open to students K-8, teachers, and staff. Tuesday aſternoons, 3:30-4:30pm (Room 100). First meeng: Tuesday, December 6th. New kniers will need a set of kning needles and a skein of yarn. Needles: US #8, preferably not longer than 12 inches in length. Yarn: #4 worsted weight yarn in a light color. Nothing metallic or too slick. Those with exisng projects are welcome to bring them! GIVING TUESDAY & THE 2ND ANNUAL CLASSROOM CHANGE CHALLENGE This year Giving Tuesday is 11/29 and we are asking you to consider donang to Green Park Lutheran School on this Naonal Day of Giving. There will be a special place to donate on our website via the DONATE tab and of course cash & checks (marked with Giving Tuesday in the memo line) are also welcome. We are also holding our 2nd annual Classroom Change Challenge that day. We are asking students to bring in any spare change on 11/29 and we will have a compeon to see which classroom can raise the most change. Last year we raised over $900 for Green Park just in change! #chooseGP Did you know word of mouth is the best way for us to share the great news of our school? Thanks to all who have submied photos in response to the #chooseGP campaign. We'd love to hear from you, too. HEARING AND VISION SCREENING—DECEMBER 9 The Center for Hearing and Speech will be coming to Green Park on Friday, December 9, to perform hearing, middle ear and vision screenings. The cost for screening is $7.00 per child. All charges will be billed to your family TADS account. If you would like to register your child for screening please complete the form aached to the Green Sheet and return to the school office by Wednesday, December 7. A TREE LOT CHRISTMASTO BE PRESENTED ON DECEMBER 9 A Tree Lot Christmasis filled with vibrant songs that deliver the truth of Gods Word in a script that follows a group of kids selling trees outside of Mr. Carmichaels Toy Store to raise money for children in need. Join the adventure as these compassionate and fun loving kids demonstrate the powerful love of Christ to the greedy Mr. Carmichael and invite him into the family of God. This fesve and fun filled Christmas musical brings to life what it means to be part of Gods family tree and the importance of sharing Gods love with others. Come join the excitement and experience the power of what it means to revel in His love and share His truth with others. Two performances (2:00 & 7:00pm) will be held on Friday, December 9, and will feature our students in K-4. BOARS HEAD CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL AT PEACE This year marks the 22nd season of the Boars Head Christmas Fesval at Peace Lutheran Church. We invite you to join us in the celebraon of Christs birth. The fesval will be on Thursday, December 1, at 7:30pm, Friday, December 2, at 7:30pm, Saturday, December 3, at 7:30pm, and Sunday, December 4, at 2:30pm and 6:00pm. Tickets are free, but are required to aend the pageant, and they go quickly. Doors open one hour before each pageant, with pre-service music beginning 30 minutes before each service. A recepon follows each service with homemade Christmas cookies, wassail, punch and coffee. FREE ckets (limit six per person) are available on a first come, first serve basis by calling the church office at 892-5610, or stopping in person to 737 Barracksview Road. For more informaon, please visit our website at www.peaceboarshead.org. STUDENTS QUALIFIED FOR DUKE TIP PROGRAM Congratulaons to the following students who have qualified for the Duke TIP program. Fourth Grade: Rachel Brown, Ben Faulsch, Chase Hase, Noah Immekus, Julia Kuschel, Alyssa Pacino, and Jacob Wanamaker; Fiſth Grade: Thomas Bugala, Luke Faulsch, Haley Hinton, Lizzie Meyer, Robert Shull, and Joah Tratar; Sixth Grade: Lisa Bartz, Jack Bussen, Silas Francis, Ian Furgeson, Gwyn Guffey, Olivia Rabbi, and Nathan Roberts. These students scored a 95% or beer on a number of subtests from last years Stanford 10 achievement tests. They will now be eligible to take tests that higher level students take. SCRIP NEWS The next Scrip order will be due Friday, December 2 with a delivery date of Friday, December 9. This will be the last Scrip order prior to Christmas, so keep your Christmas gift list in mind.

The most current Scrip Order Form is attached to the Green Sheet e-mail. Please use this form. DO NOT use any forms dated prior to August, 2016. Old forms are outdated and may contain retailers who no longer sell Scrip.

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER CHAPEL OFFERINGS TO BENEFIT LUTHERANS FOR LIFE Chapel offerings for November and December will be benefitting Lutherans for Life. Lutherans for Life assists laypersons and church professionals in educating people about life issues. They encourage our churches to integrate these issues into their worship and education classes. BABY BOTTLES TO BENEFIT PREGNANCY HELP CENTER This week students were each given a plastic baby bottle to fill with change to benefit the Pregnancy Help Center. The Help Center provides help for moms and dads in need. They provide information on parenting and adoption. The baby bottles will be due back by December 1. We appreciate any donation you can give. METRO HONORS BAND SELECTION Congratulations to 8th grader Joshua Stroups (Trumpet) for his recent selection to participate in the Metro 8 District Honors Band! We also congratulate Emma Hopfer (First Chair Oboe), 2014 Green Park Alum and current LHSS junior for her selection to this group as well. Students from area private and public schools auditioned to be part of this group. This group of gifted artists are scheduled to rehearse together and perform in concert on Sunday, November 20, at the Performing Arts Center at Chaminade College Prep. HONORS FOR FORMER GREEN PARK SOCCER PLAYERS The Lutheran South boys' Soccer team capped off a terrific season, taking 3rd place in State with a 1-1 tie in their final game against O'Hara last Saturday. Eight players were named to the 2016 All District Team, two of these players are Green Park graduates: Kenny Paetow and Jacob Reis. Congratulations to these outstanding players! LUTHERAN SOUTH ADVENT BAND CONCERT The Lutheran High School South Music Department proudly announces its annual Advent Band Concert. The concert is scheduled for Friday, December 9 at 7:00pm and will be performed in the Concordia Center at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood. The concert of traditional Christmas music and other band literature will feature the school’s Wind Symphony, Concert Band, and Jazz Band. The bands are conducted John W. Miller and Matthew C. Janssen. LUTHERAN SOUTH CHRISTMAS CHORAL CONCERT The annual LHSS Christmas Choral Concert is being given at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood on Sunday, December 18, at 7:00pm. The concert includes all four high school choirs, and the Junior Singers (select middle school choir sponsored by LHSS). The choirs are directed by Greg Gastler, assisted by Mary Zubert and Kelly McCord, pianists. Tickets are not required for either concert, though a door offering will be taken.
