The Grifn Grapevine Praise and Prayer “As each one has received a gift, ministr it t one anoter, as good stwards of te manifold grace of God” 1 Petr 4:10 News fom te Ranch MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM HONDURAS! Well, we enter the Christmas season with much joy in all the blessings He has showered on us! We took the kids to the beach at La Ceiba in November. We went with the Schubert family and had a wonderful time. It was all you can eat which made Caleb a very happy boy! We returned home and 2 days later William and I took an anniversary/birthday trip to Antigua, Guatemala with Alan & Terrie Runnells. The Lord provided VERY affordable, beautiful accommodations with a view of one of the 3 live volcanoes. We took an interesting tour of the ruins in this historic city, one of the oldest in Central America. We scheduled a 6 a.m. hike up volcano Pacaya, but woke up very sick and couldn't make it. We are so grateful to God for allowing us some time alone to reconnect with each other and see another breathtaking country of Central America. We had our graduation for the 6 Honduran teens in November. It was the best ever. Will and Nancy have already moved to the Bridge House, please pray for them. Sometimes family that has not been around in their lives will now show up, not all of them with healthy or pure motives. Blood runs deep in the Honduran culture, please pray they have wisdom in the decisions they make with their time and money. The other 4 teens will move in January, it will be a very different ranch atmosphere that has it's advantages, but we will miss them all greatly! Our school is lacking at least 2 teachers for the semester beginning in January, so I may be doing more than substitute teaching this semester. I may be taking on a couple of Spelling/Grammar classes. I do not feel called to this in particular, but one of my callings was to be a help and blessing to other missionaries. So, this does fall under that. I will be relieving some stress on our missionary teachers and principal. They are all giving up their planning periods and shifting between many different age levels to fill in all the holes in the schedule. William continues to work on maintenance issues in our aging homes. Plumbing problems seem to be the order of the month! William is anticipating road repairs in the beginning of the year after rainy season passes. The kids are enjoying their school break! They are doing well and continue to amaze us in their growth and wisdom. May you all be filled with the blessings of Christ in this season of celebration with family and friends. We pray in the new year that we see more people come to know the saving grace of Jesus. May you and your families experience the Hand of God in your homes and continue to seek His face in everything! PRAISES: 1. We continue to see God work in the children here. We have a new 7 year old, Jafet, whose father willingly turned over custody to WGO, knowing he could not provide a good life and education since they were living on the streets of Tegucigalpa. We also have added a 13 year old, Angelica, who came from another ministry. Her addition is very special since she is the older sister of Enmanuel and Jennifer. What a blessing that she is now living with Jennifer in a wonderful home with loving Honduran house parents! I love it when God brings families back together! 2. Again, we are so grateful for the time away that God orchestrated. What a privilege to see another part of Honduras with our children. Also, for William & I to see another country and take some time together. 3. We had the presidential elections on Nov. 29th, in spite of threats, we heard of no real danger at the polls and the country is peaceful. We are so proud of the Honduran people for standing up for democracy and independence! By the way, Pepe Lobo, of the conservative party, won with 55% of the votes. Pictures fom La Ceiba Edgar & I before te graduaton ceremony Wiliam & I at some ruins in Antgua, Guatmala PRAYER: 1. Please pray for William's father as he goes through a rigorous month of chemo and liquid radiation to fight lymphoma cancer. It has not metastasized into his bone marrow, so we are hopeful for full recovery! Because of the weakening to his immune system, they will not be flying out for Christmas. We will miss not being with each other, but we are praying for a complete healing so that we can spend many more years of Christmases together! 2. Pray for our teen graduates, that they would grow in Christ and have Godly wisdom. They are all required to find jobs, which are not easy to come by. Pray that they find work in the places the Lord wants them! 3. Continue to pray for our school and more missionaries to come and assist in teaching our children. Please e-mail me if you are interested in opportunities to come and serve! 4. A personal team from Sewell Mill Baptist, one of our sponsoring churches, is planning a trip to serve June 5-12. We are changing our construction brigades somewhat to incorporate more community outreach, teaching skills that will allow the locals to help each other in ongoing ways. This is a new direction for us and we are in a research mode, please pray that we can work with the teams to find out their skills/talents and how we can teach the people around us in a way that will bring glory to God and foster an attitude of reaching out to each other through the love of Christ. We are VERY excited about one of our own teams coming to serve with us! Send tax deductible gifts to: World Gospel Outreach P.O.
