Nursery for children through 3 years of age is available during the Worship Service in a classroom in the entrance hallway. Our loving and dedicated staff is pleased to provide this quality service for your infants and toddlers.

Pathway Church offers a Children’s Program for ages 3-4th grade that meets every Sunday except the last Sunday of the month. The children are dismissed halfway through the service. There is a sign-in sheet on a table in the hall. Today, we continue our current study, Journey with Jesus. Journey with Jesus takes children on an adventure as they travel with Jesus through the cities where His ministry came alive.

Welcome to all, but in particular, welcome to all guests! We encourage you to fill out the guest card on the back of this worship program and place in the wooden box on the table in the back of the auditorium.

Start the new year right as we focus on resolutions and plans. Today is the first message of our new series, “Choose Well: Making Great Decisions,” and focuses on principles for wise decision making and what God is doing in us as we make decisions. The January 10 message aims at recovery from bad deci-sions. The January 17 message will focus on the most important decision that we can ever make.

Each Sunday “table time devotions” will be available. Use these devotions either with family at dinner time or individually to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and decision-making principles.

Family Night: Our next Family Night is Wednesday, January 13, and will feature a Wild Game Dinner Potluck and Silly Safari Live Animal Show. Bring a dinner entrée to share. If you don’t have wild or fish, bring a family favorite. All foods will be marked. Invite your friends! Dinner will be at 6:00 pm. with live animal show by Silly Sararis’ Coyote Chris at 7:15 pm. Pathway is also jointly sponsoring the Pathway/Red Cross Blood Drive at Crown Point Christian School just before and during the Family Night din-ner. You could give blood, try food on the wild side, and attend the Silly Sa-fari show! We will begin sign-ups for blood donation time slots next week. What an evening!

Pastor Joel needs to know what wild game and fish is available. So far, we are lacking in variety and quantity. We have 50 lbs. of fried salmon and 35 lbs. of smoked venison. “What is Transformed?”

TRANSFORMED is a church-wide seven-session sermon and small group

campaign that will guide and grow Pathway by exploring what the Bible

has to say about every essential area of our lives: Spiritual, Physical,

Mental, Emotional, Relational, Financial and Vocational.

The world is shouting for our attention with answers to our relationship

struggles, solutions to our financial trouble, and explanations to our

search for meaning. But the world’s promises leave us empty and search-

ing for more. God’s will is the only answer that promises to TRANSFORM

our lives from the inside out.

NEEDED: Hosts/Discussion Leaders to lead groups. Please call the office,

(219) 558-0573 , if you might be able to help by hosting a group. To host,

you will need to have an available DVD and TV and know how to push the

“play” button, be able to make a pot of coffee, and be able to read the

questions in the Discussion Guide to encourage a conversation about the

topic. The teaching component of the lesson will be on DVD.

We’re looking for two frequencies for group meetings:

Weekly and Every Other Week.

Ideally, we’d like groups in Highland/Lansing, St. John, and Cedar Lake/

Lowell.

So how about hosting?

If you’re willing to open your home, but are uncomfortable with leading

the discussion, Pastor Joel is willing to host two groups at others’ homes.

They would need to meet weekly either at 4:00 or 6:00 pm. Call him at

Also, once hosts have committed, we will have a church-wide sign up to

join groups.
