Congratulations  On  Downloading  This  Report!    I’ve  written  this  for  you  because  it  addresses  the  #1  biggest  mistake  I  see  Ayurvedic  practitioners  continue  to  make  over  and  over  again…and  it’s  the  difference  between  thriving  or  struggling  in  your  practice.    Quite  literally,  if  you  can  correct  this  one  mistake,  then  you  can  start  automatically  generating  client  referrals  everywhere  you  go.  Not  only  that,  but  you’ll  also  eliminate  any  experience  of  competition  or  “client  scarcity,”  even  if  you  live  in  a  small  town  or  a  community  that  filled  with  “holistic”  practitioners.    If  instead  you  repeat  this  mistake,  then  you’ll  find  it’s  an  uphill  battle  to  get  clients,  and  you’ll  attract  a  lot  of  people  who  are  “curious,”  but  unlikely  to  sign  on  for  long-‐term  committed  programs  with  you…the  kind  where  they  really  get  results.      This  can  get  frustrating  and  discouraging  for  you  as  a  practitioner,  and  it’s  not  much  of  a  service  to  your  clients  either.  Not  only  that,  you’ll  also  be  at  risk  for  spending  energy  comparing  yourself  to  other  practitioners,  feeling  in  competition,  and  imagining  that  you  need  more  education  to  feel  confident  and  be  successful.    How  do  I  know  this?    After  I  graduated  from  the  California  College  of  Ayurveda  in  2001  and  set  out  to  launch  my  practice  I  made  all  the  same  mistakes  I  see  Ayurveda  practitioners  making.  The  result  was  that  I  was  stressed  about  money,  and  eventually  burned  out  and  left  my  practice.    It  wasn’t  until  I  got  into  some  success  with  sales  and  marketing  positions  in  TOTALLY  different  fields  that  I  recognized  my  mistake.  Then  I  took  what  I  learned  back  into  my  professional  Ayurveda  practice  and  in  2  months  rebuilt  a  practice  earning  $10,000  per  month  with  just  10  committed  clients  who  were  getting  consistent  results  with  their  health.    I  built  off  that  success  and  systematized  what  I  was  doing  with  the  creation  of  the  Grow  Your  Ayurvedic  Business  program  to  teach  other  Ayurvedic  practitioners  as  well.  Since  then,  any  practitioner  who  has  followed  these  new  mindsets  and  strategies  in  their  practice  has  also  reaped  the  rewards  of  a  much  more  financially  sustainable  and  personally  rewarding  practice  serving  their  committed  clients.    Sound  interesting  to  you?    I  hope  you’ll  make  use  of  what  you’re  about  to  learn  in  this  short  and  powerful  report.    In  Health  and  Joy,

 Jacob  Griscom

What’s  The  Biggest  Mistake  Ayurvedic  Practitioners  Make?    Whether  building  a  community  talk,  building  a  website,  or  answering  the  question,  “What  do  you  do?”  Ayurvedic  practitioners  consistently  try  to  get  people  interested  in  Ayurveda.    You  may  be  wondering,  “So  what  could  possibly  be  wrong  with  that?  And  what  else  would  I  do?”    Well,  think  about  it…    How  many  people  do  you  think  are  actively  looking  for  Ayurveda  right  now?      Answer:  Very  few!      And  even  those  who  are  looking  for  Ayurveda  are  interested  in  it  for  what  it  can  DO  for  them  more  than  they  are  interested  in  the  philosophy  or  history  of  it.    No  one  wakes  up  in  the  morning  thinking,  “I  really  need  to  find  me  some  Ayurveda  today.”    Nope,  instead  people  wake  up  in  the  morning  with  worries  and  concerns,  aches  and  pains,  and  real  life  health  challenges  to  go  with  their  stressed  out  lives,  financial  issues,  relationship  troubles,  and  emotional  hardships.    These  are  the  exact  things  that  Ayurveda  can  help  them  with,  but  we  need  to  let  them  know  that  UP  FRONT.    There  are  two  ways  that  you  can  do  this  and  start  attracting  more  committed  clients  right  away:

Option  1    You  can  keep  a  general  focus  to  your  practice,  but  don’t  say  anything  about  Ayurveda,  at  first.  Instead,  start  letting  people  know  that  you  can  help  them  with  what  I  call  the  “Big  5  Health  Concerns.”  These  are  the  top  5  health  concerns  that  come  up  over  and  over  again  whenever  I  run  health  surveys  asking  the  question,  “What’s  your  biggest  challenge  or  frustration  with  your  health?”    The  Big  5:

1. Weight  Loss  2. Fatigue/Energy  Issues  3. Sleep  Issues  4. Pain  5. Anxiety/Depression

Now,  I  like  this  option  because  it  shifts  from  focusing  on  Ayurveda  to  focusing  on  people’s  real  NEEDS,  but  it  stays  really  broad.  This  means  you’re  not  going  to  be  able  to  go  really  deep  into  one  area  and  you’re  not  going  to  become  known  as  the  “go  to”  person  for  a  specific  market.  It’s  also  so  much  harder  to  build  a  community  around  a  broad  practice  than  a  “niched  “practice.

Option  2  (Most  Effective!)    You  can  “niche”  your  practice  and  focus  on  a  particular  market’s  needs.      I  like  this  option  the  best  because:

• It  gets  you  super-‐focused  on  attracting  your  ideal  clients.  • It  allows  you  to  go  really  deep  into  a  subject,  become  an  expert,  and  give  your  clients  the  best  possible

support.  • It  helps  you  feel  confident  about  your  value,  focus  on  what  to  research  and  study,  and  create  really

specific  content  and  programs  for  your  clients.  • It’s  much  easier  to  build  community  and  group  programs  around  your  practice  because  all  of  your

clients  are  struggling  with  the  same  or  very  similar  issues.  • Your  client  success  stories  are  automatically  relevant  and  inspire  and  attract  new  clients  with  the  same

issues.  • It  eliminates  the  feeling  of  competition  with  other  practitioners  (who  are  all  busy  trying  to  get  people

interested  in  their  modalities  instead  of  addressing  specific  market  needs).  • It  becomes  more  straight-‐forward  to  write  your  marketing  materials  and  build  your  website  because

you  know  WHO  you  are  talking  to.  • It  makes  it  much  easier  to  decide  where  to  advertise,  where  to  get  speaking  engagements,  and  who  to

reach  out  to  as  potential  partners  because  you  know  where  your  ideal  clients  are  hanging  out.  It  also  makes  these  efforts  more  cost  effective  and  easier  to  secure.

• You  can  always  accept  people  outside  your  niche  as  clients…and  in  an  ironic  sort  of  way  you  actually  tend  to  attract  more  of  them  too  because  they  like  that  you  are  so  focused  on  client  needs  and  results!

Ok,  so  are  you  convinced  yet?      Well,  don’t  take  my  word  for  it…    Go  through  the  niche  list  and  exercise  on  the  following  pages  to  help  you  determine  your  top  niche  possibilities  and  try  it  out  in  your  practice.      If  you’re  unhappy  with  a  steady  stream  of  clients  and  referrals,  an  awesome  client  community,  and  great  results,  you  can  always  go  back  to  doing  it  the  hard  way  J.

4  Steps  To  Pick  The  Perfect  Niche  For  Your  Professional  Ayurveda  Practice

1. It’s  easier  if  you  can  relate  to  your  market  already.  It’s  easiest  if  they  can  easily  connect  and  relate  with  you.  Make  a  list  of  your  demographical  information,  and  any  health  challenges  that  you  have  already  successfully  overcome  or  know  how  to  address  for  yourself.

My  demographics  (sex,  age,  profession,  activities,  etc.):          Health  challenges  I  have  successfully  overcome  or  know  how  to  address  for  myself:

2. If  you  already  have  a  practice  and  have  helped  clients  get  specific  results  and  overcome  specific  challenges,  make  a  list  of  those  results.  These  are  potential  niche  areas  for  you  to  target  your  practice  as  well.

Results  I’ve  helped  my  clients  achieve  already:

3. Then  narrow  your  niche.  Look  at  your  lists  and  identify  the  markets  that  you  think  have  the  greatest  needs  and  motivation.  Also  identify  the  markets  where  you  feel  the  strongest,  most  identified,  and  most  connected  to  serving.

My  top  3  to  5  niche  markets:

4. One  niche  will  stand  out  the  most  for  you.  Which  one  is  it?    My  niche:
