VerticalIntegration

GRS + ISE + PVH are vertically integrated covering all activities in the PV Solar value chain (withthe exception of wafer and module manufacturing).Integration allows GRS to arbitrate resources between self-develop/owned projects and third-party plants (leverage to finance equity and to dilute overheads costs)GRS group overall project margin increase:

DESIGN AND QUALITY CONTROLOF RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS

INGENIA'S LABORATORY is equipped with state-of-the-artinstrumentation: class AAA solar simulator used to measure the maxpower of PV modules (according to international standard IEC60904); thermo-graphic cameras to detect resistive hot-spots; and anI-V Curve tracer to check electrical strings of PV Modules on-site. Weoffer a comprehensive service for the requirements of design andquality control.

Our laboratory technicians have significant experience in the inspection and assessment of PVmodules. The inspection tests to check a batch sample include:

•Visual inspection for major defects(section 10.1 of the standard IEC61215:2005 / IEC 61646:2008)

•Thermographic inspection for hot spots or cell cracks(internal procedure developed by ISE)

•Insulation resistance test to check there is sufficient protectionbetween the electrical circuit and the frame so that there are nohealth and safety risks during handling and operation(section 10.3 of the standard IEC61215:2005 / IEC 61646:2008)

•Peak power determination ie: the maximum power generated by the module under standard testconditions

14

DESIGN AND QUALITY CONTROLOF RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS

Additional Inspection and testing of PV modules in the laboratory:

Control of PV Module Degradation

Although nominal power is expected to reduce over time, module manufacturers usually guarantee a maximumdegradation over a certain amount of time. Periodic powertesting can be performed in our laboratory on a selectedsample of installed modules to ensure that actualdegradation of the module performance stays withinmanufacturer’s warranty.

QUALITY CONTROL & MONITORING

Module Factory Inspection

Our engineers are regularly called upon to provide a comprehensivefactory inspection prior to manufacture as well as complete in-situtests of PV modules prior to shipping. In particular, we check thatthe factory complies with our rigorous high standard of qualitycontrol during the entire production process including:

--Sourcing and storage of raw materials

--Manufacturing process (welding, lamination, cell alignment, installationof junction boxes and connectors etc)

--Thermographic inspection of modules (to detect faulty soldering orelectrical circuit defects)

--Flash test to determine power measurement compliance

--Storage and transport of modules prior to shipping

--Packing, labels, documentation and pallets
