28. California Fire Code #133California Technical Bulletin 133 is a full scale fire performance test of a complete article offurniture. It requires that a complete seating furniture product be exposed to a large open flamefor 90 seconds in a specially designed test room. Heat generated and the rate at which it isgenerated, smoke opacity, carbon monoxide generation and weight loss are the test parametersthat determine whether an article of upholstered furniture passes this test. CA TB 133 isrecognized as a “state-of-the-art” fire performance standard for upholstered furniture enteringhigh risk designations.
