Login Section

This page is used to redirect users to the tracking portal where they can track their micro

LOCi and change settings. Enter a correct account name in the upper left box and click the View Account. If unit is under a group, then enter the group’s password.

Figure 1

In the upper right box, use this page to add and delete accounts is covered in the Administration/Installation

section below.

Main Page – Tracking Portal

Figure 2 shows the tracking portal using Microsoft Map.

Let’s take a tour of this map and explore the various functions it offers.

The most common use for these tracking maps is to see a trail (breadcrumb track) of where the vehicle has traveled. Tracks are archived and saved each day, so to view the

tracks for a particular day, just click that date on the calendar. The default date, if no dateis clicked on the calendar, is the current day. In the example below, most recent report is

the “circle” icon, and each report is marked with a pushpin.

Left-clicking a pushpin will display the address. Right-click 2 pushpins to gettime/speed/distance info on that segment of the trip. For an application like a Taxi that

drives the same routes all day, the tracks will criss-cross and get confusing. In this case, you can turn off all but the last few tracks by un-checking the “BreadCrumbs” checkbox.

Users List

The users list is under Info section on the left hand side of tracking portal. Click on thepull down menu to see the units of the group. Select unit you wish to switch to and then

enter the group password. After this, click on Get. This list will be visible if the currentuser is a member of “group”. Group setup is covered in the Installation section below.

The other members of the user’s group are listed here. Clicking on one of these users inthe list will switch the map display to show the tracks for that user. Additionally, other

group members are shown on the map. If the map is zoomed out further, the other groupmembers will be shown as well.

GeoFence

The geofence is used to send an email alert or an SMS if the vehicle enters or leaves thefence. Clicking the “geoFence” button will activate the geoFence functions and looks like

this:

Figure 4

The first thing we need to do is draw the fence. Simply double-click anywhere on the

map to set one corner of the fence rectangle (only rectangular shapes are supported). Then double-click where you want the opposite corner to be. A temporary light blue

fence is drawn as in the example above.

If you want to change the fence size or shape, just double-click on two new points andcreate a new fence. The old one is automatically removed. The fence is not yet saved.

We need to click the “Set” button to save the fence we created. Before we save thisfence, we need to tell the server where to send the alert, what TYPE of fence this is, and

we need to enter the password for the account.

Figure 5

Page 5: GTX Tracking Software Manual

In figure 5, the “geoFence” button has changed to the “Set” button and there are 3 newcontrols. Once we use these controls to enter a password, select the fence-type, and enter

the destination for the alert, we can click this “Set” button to save our fence.

Here is how each of the fence controls work:

1. To the right of the “Set” button is a dropdown list where you select the fence-type:• “Both” sends an alert if the target enters or leaves the fence area.

• “Exit” sends an alert if the target leaves the fence area.

• “Enter” sends an alert if the target enters the fence area.

• “1Shot” behaves differently depending on where the target was located when the fencewas created. If the target was inside the fence, an alert is sent ONE TIME ONLY when it

leaves the fence. And if the target was outside the fence when it was created, the alert issent once when it enters the fence. These 1Shot fences are destroyed after they are

triggered and are not saved.

2. Under the “Set” button is a textbox where you enter the destination for the alert. Entereither an email address here, or a phone number that can receive SMS text messages.

Always use a “+” prefix for phone numbers. For example: +15551212. Don’t usehyphens or spaces and it is best to use the entire phone number including “1” plus area

code. To add a custom message to the email alert, use this format:alertmessage[[email protected]].

The words “alert message” will be added to the body of the email and can be used to help

identify the alerts. Multiple destinations can be entered into this box and they can bemixed between phone numbers and email addresses. Just separate them with a “;”

character. Avoid using more than 2 or 3 destinations to avoid delays. This works for allalert types except 1-Shots which require a single destination.

3. To the right of this textbox is where you enter the password for the account. If you don

not know the password, you will not be able to create fences for this particular account. We now have everything we need to create the geoFence. We have drawn our purple box

and we have entered the type, destination, and password. So click the “Set” button. If allgoes well, you will see the “geoFence saved” message under the main map. If there is a

problem, there will an error message instead. Once we have some saved fences, we canview and delete them by following the steps below.

Click the “geoFence” button again. Any existing fences are drawn on the map. BLACK

fences are type “Both”, RED fences, like the example below, are fence-type “Exit”, andBLUE fences are type “Enter”. In the example below, we have an “Exit” type fence.

Hovering the mouse over the “Delete” button will show you the type and the destination.

To permanently remove this fence, click the “Delete” button. Click the “Delete” button of any other fences that you want removed. Then click the “Set” button.

IMPORTANT: The fences are not removed until the “Set” button is clicked. To abort the

deletes, simply click today’s date on the calendar.

 Driving Reports

Below is an example of how driving reports looks.

Figure 8

MTECH left US85 at 11:16 AM, drove for 14 minutes, and arrived at 7066 SR-30 at11:30 AM. He parked there for 1.2 hours and then departed from there at 12:41 PM. Hearrived at 2864 Riverwalk Cir at 12:58 PM. It took him 17 minutes for this trip and he

reached a max speed of 61 mph. He left 2894 Riverwalk at 1:17 PM and arrived at 3450S Inca St at 1:23 PM. Finally, he left Inca St at 1:31 PM and reached his last stop at S

Prince St at 1:36 PM, a 2.4 mile trip that took him 5 minutes. He drove a total of 23 milesin 42 minutes.

Stats

Stats report shows the total of miles driven by year per unit. See figure 9.

Calendar

Tracking data is archived to the /archives folder only if the following is true: a new

position report is received AND the date of this new report is newer than the date of theprevious report. An example is the best way to illustrate this. An account named BOBsends position reports to the server on Monday. We follow BOB’s tracks on Monday in

real time. BOB is off on Tuesday and Wednesday. Whenever we look at BOB’s tracks onTuesday or Wednesday, we see the tracks he recorded on Monday. On Thursday, BOB

sends new position reports.

The first report that the server receives on Thursday causes all the tracking data fromMonday to be archived. Now when we look at the current tracking map, we only see

BOB’s tracks for Thursday. In order to see his tracks for Monday, or any previous day,we must click on the calendar for that particular day. In the example to the left, the

current day is September 18.

Figure 10

Clicking on this day will simply reload the page. There is data for the 3 rd, 10th, 11th, 14th and

15th. September 18th is currently selected in this example and the map will show data forthis day. Any days with a blue background have data and clicking them will show map

data and allow you download the data for that day.

It is likely that you will want to save and use these archives for various purposes. Theyare simple comma-delimited files and they are compatible with many other applications,

including Excel.

Find Address Button

This can be useful if you are tracking someone who is lost. Entering an address or placename here will display the location on the map. Since the map will display both the tracks

of the unit as well as the address location, you can easily guide the vehicle you aretracking to that address.

Change Settings

Click on Settings tab. Under Time Interval you can choose the following:

60 sec – Change the reporting frequency to 1 minute120 sec – Change the reporting frequency to 2 minutes

Stop – Micro LOCi will not report any location unless you use Locate Now option (underControl Section)

You can also turn ON/OFF power saving mode. Unit will not transmit its location if it

does not move a preset distance or speed. This distance is preset to 500 meters and speedis 8 mph. If unit moves 500 meters from last location or speed of unit is more than 8 mph

then unit will report the next three locations.

After you chose the option that you want, enter your password and click on save.

Figure 11

If you wish to get the battery level of unit, click of Get Battery. The percentage of battery left will be displayed.
