Two scrapbooks devoted to The Beatles compiled from press and

magazine clippings. An annotation towards the front of the first

scrapbook states that it was 'Begun June 1964' at precisely the time

The Beatles made their tour of Australia and 'Beatlemania' was at

its most intense. Both scrapbooks have been carefully assembled and

lovingly preserved. There are also some loose press and magazine

clippings placed towards the end of both scrapbooks.

Scrapbook devoted to The Beatles compiled from press and

magazine clippings. This scrapbook has been created by

sticking three individual scrapbooks together. The top

scrapbook in this grouping is entitled 'The Beatles Scrap Book'

and was specially printed for young fans of the band. The front

cover features individual illustrations in colour of the four

members of the band - Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, George

Harrison and John Lennon - wearing their stage outfits. An

annotation towards the front of the scrapbook states that it

was 'Begun June 1964' at precisely the time The Beatles made

their tour of Australia and 'Beatlemania' was at its most

intense.

paper bags and one plastic sleeve.

Description: Clippings, The Beatles and other performers, Dianne Galofaro,

Longueville, New South Wales, Australia, 1964 - 1996

Press and magazine clippings primarily concerning The Beatles

although there are also a small number of clippings referring to

other popular artists of the period such as the Bee Gees, Roy Orbison

and The Easybeats. The clippings have been grouped within three

paper bags and one polyester sleeve. Most of the clippings are from

the mid 1960s and are dated but the publications from which they

were clipped are usually not identified.

Ltd, December 1964 - June 1968

Imperfect run of 'The Beatles Monthly Book', also known as 'The

Beatles Book', a fan magazine devoted to The Beatles which was

produced by the publisher Sean O'Mahony of Beat Publications Ltd

between August 1963 and December 1969. 'The Beatles Monthly

Book' was supported by The Beatles management with regular items

appearing from the band's press officer, Tony Barrow, writing under

his middle names of 'Frederick James', and from their road

managers, Neil Aspinall and Mal Evans. Each issue was extensively

illustrated with black and white photographs taken by the

magazine's photographer Leslie Bryce and with caricatures of band

members by the artist Bob Gibson. Regular features in the magazine

included an editorial by Sean O'Mahony writing under the

pseudonym Johnny Dean, the monthly newsletter of The Official

Beatles Fan Club, interviews with members of the band, song lyrics,

details about 'Beatle Pen Pals', fan letters, and insights into the

history of the band and their current activities. The publication was

revived by Sean O'Mahony in May 1976 and between then and

September 1982 he republished all 77 original issues. After that the

magazine continued with original content but finally ceased

publication in January 2003.

an article by John Neary entitled 'The Magical McCartney

Mystery'. The front cover has a black and white photograph by

Linda McCartney of Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney,

Linda's daugter Heather, and two-month-old Mary McCartney

at their farm in Scotland.

Special 'The Beatles from Yesterday to Today', New York, New

York, USA, 1995

International edition of 'Life' Magazine which was a special

commemorative 'Beatles Reunion' issue entitled 'The Beatles

from Yesterday to Today' which was devoted entirely to a

retrospective analysis of The Beatles and their influence on

popular music and popular culture. It made extensive use of

photographs taken by the magazine's photographs and also

included photographs taken by Linda McCartney of the first

formal photograph session with the three surviving members

of the band in 25 years. The front cover features four

individual portrait photographs of Ringo Starr, John Lennon,

George Harrison and Paul McCartney. This issue of "Life' was

published at a time when there was a resurgence of

Beatlemania.

Colour poster (405 mm h x 1.52 m w) featuring The Beatles. The

images of the band running across the poster from left to right form

the key feature of the poster. The first image is a group photograph

of The Beatles in their stage costumes; the second George Harrison

being greeted by fans at an airport; the third John Lennon being

greeted by a fan at an airport; and finally Paul McCartney also being

greeted by a fan at an airport. Another image, presumably a similar

photograph of Ringo Starr being greeted by fan/s at an airport, has

been cut from the poster. Across both the top and bottom of the

poster are individual photographs of well-known popular British

artists of the period: solo artists including Adam Faith, Billy Fury

and Cliff Richard and members of the British bands, the Rolling

Stones and Brian Poole and Tremeloes. Unfortunately much of the

identifying information that was originally printed on the back of the

poster was on the section that has been removed.

Two souvenir concert programs for concerts in 1967 attended by the

creator of the archives, Dianne Galofaro. The first concert was

promoted by Aztec Services Pty Ltd, Stadiums Pty Ltd and Pan

Pacific Promotions Pty Ltd and was headlined by Roy Orbison, The

Walker Brothers and The Yardbirds. The second concert was

promoted by Aztec Services Pty Ltd and Stadiums Pty Ltd and was

headlined by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. The concerts also

featured well-known local artists.

Souvenir concert program for a concert tour by Roy Orbison,

The Walker Brothers and The Yardbirds promoted by Aztec

Services Pty Ltd, Stadiums Pty Ltd and Pan Pacific Prmotions

Pty Ltd. The artists played concerts in Sydney, Adelaide,

Melbourne, and Brisbane, one of which was attended by the

creator of the archives, Dianne Galofaro, and were supported

by local artists. In Sydney the concert was opened by The ID

featuring Jeff St. John, in Adelaide by Bev Harrell and The

Third Party, in Melbourne by The Mixtures, and in Brisbane

by Thursday's Children. Johnny Young, described as

'Australia's newest and most popular singing idol making his

first appearance as one of the stars of the Big Show',

performed at all venues. The Quotations, 'one of England's top

instrumental groups', backed The Walker Brothers, and The

Webs 'from America' backed Roy Orbison. The international

artists were descibed in the program in the following way: The

Walker Brothers, 'The first Australian tour for the dynamic

exciting talents of these three American boys who are

currently England's No. 1 singing sensation'; The Yardbirds,

'Introducing the raw, earthy primitive, wildly stirring sounds

of England's kings of rhythm and blues making their first tour

of Australia'; and Roy Orbison, 'America's prolific hitmaker

making an eagerly awaited return on his third starring visit to

Australia.'

The front cover of the program had photographs of Roy

Orbison, The Walker Brothers and The Yardbirds. Inside the

Souvenir concert program for a concert tour by Herb Alpert

and the Tijuana Brass promoted by Aztec Services Pty Ltd and

Stadiums Pty Ltd. Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass played

concerts in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, one of which

was attended by the creator of the archives, Dianne Galofaro,

and were supported by local artists. In Melbourne the concert

was opened by The Vibrants, in Sydney by Ian Saxon and The

Latin Quartet, and in Brisbane by The Sounds of Seven. These

bands also backed the featured local artists, the New Zealand

duo Bill and Boyd and the Australian singer Bev Harrell, who

played all three concerts.

The front cover of the program has a photograph of Herb

Alpert. Inside the program there was an advertisement for the

recordings of Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass available in
