MBA IV Semester (2009 -201 1 Batch) summer project Guidelines and GuideList

I.Objective

Students should take up an in depth study of an issue/problem in the area of specialization.

II.General Guidelines

1.The student should start the project work from 08th /Feb/2011.

2.Student should give the name of the company & other contact details of the external guide on

or before 25th/Jan/2011to the concerned internal guides.

3.Ensure to submit the draft copies on below mentioned dates

• First Draft Copy on 7/3/2011

• Second Draft copy on 14/3/2011

4.The student should submit 4 copies(including student copy) of the final report on or before

25.03.2011 without fail.

5.No two students shall work on the same problem.

6.The student shall seek the guidance of the internal guide on a continuous basis without fail.

7.On completion of the project work student shall prepare a report with the following format

8.The project report shall be prepared using MS word.

9.All the report shall be printed in the A4 size 1” (one inch) margin on all the sides.

10.The report shall be hard bound facing sheet (only white colour)

11.A certificate by the guide & head of the institution indicating the bonafide performance of

project by the student to be enclosed

12.An undertaking by the student to the effect that the work is independently carried out by him

13.The certificate from the company/organization where student has been permitted to do the

project.

BIBLIOGRAPHY (Max: 1 page)

The bibliographical note for Periodicals / Journals, Books, Reports, Thesis is different

in



presentation and complete details of the reference must be given in order. This

would be clear from the following examples:

Periodicals / Journals:

Manjunatha.T and Mallikarjunappa.T, 2009. ‘Bivariate Analysis of Capital

Books:

William Emory, C., “Business Research Methods”, Sulthan Chand Publishers,

7.The project report shall not exceed 60 (Sixty) pages.

8.The project work shall be on a topic in the area of specialization specified in the

syllabus & opted by

the candidate.

IV. APPENDIX

While writing a project, there are a few practices which should be followed withoutfail.

Cover page:

The outer cover should contain all the details on the Title page of the summer

project report. So it is advisable to follow the approved format by the guide.

Paper Size & Quality:

When the final draft is prepared it should be printed on A-4 ExecutiveBond paper

and the page set-up should be 1” (one inch) margin on all sides.

Font Size: While using the Font for the body text, it should be Times New Roman –

Paragraph Space: The project body text should have sufficient space i.e., 1.5-line

space foreach and every paragraph must be provided.

Headings:

While using the headings & subheadings, appropriate distinction should be given.

For example, if the main heading is in bold capital letters, the sub headings may be

bold, italic and under scored.

Use of tables:

Tables should all be numbered, properly titled and placed before thediscussion. On

no account, the tables should be split.

Diagrams:

As regards graphs or diagrams, they should be neatly drawn either with BlackIndianInk or Computer printed (either black & white or colour). But the graphs or

diagramsshould fit in A-4 size paper. Each figure should be numbered and titled.

V.The summer project Report will be summarily rejected

-if the organization varies from the organization name stated in Weekly report.

- if the certificate is not enclosed in the summer project Report with the

necessarydetails.

-If the student shall not seek the guidance of the internal guide on acontinuous basis.

- If the student absent himself in the organization when the concerned authorities

makes the surprise

inspection.

Note: During the time of summer project report submission, the summer

project report soft copy also should be submitted to the project guide

along with the projects.
