INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this guideline is only to help the members practice some simple applications of

what they can contribute to the Unit via Websites.

If there are more suggestions or others ways, they are all welcomed to be practiced, and as stated

this is just for simple guides and examples of tasks.

BACKGROUND OF WEBSITE UNIT

As we all know, this unit consist of several smaller sub-units that controls and regulates

different websites. There are sub-units for:

1. Rakanmasjid.com (Official RMUTP Portal)2. Facebook.com (Official RMUTP Account and Group)3. Twitter.com

The head of the unit usually will divide the members of the unit to each of the sub-units

accordingly. However, it is recommended that:

1. Rakanmasjid.com is managed by those who are quite skill-full/ partially knowledgeable insome programming and have some understanding in coding (conditional).

2. Facebook.com is regulated by those who like to open Facebook regularly.3. Twitter.com is the same as Facebook.com.

THE SUB-UNITS SPECIALIZATION

1. RAKANMASJID.COM

This sub-unit will have the following tasks:

1. Update related articles quite often.2. Update events organized by RMUTP.3. Update pictures of events. (Optional)

1.1. Updating articles:

Updating articles can be easy and moderately-challenging. The easy way is just copy and

paste articles from any good websites, blogs, etc. and paste them into the new articles.

The second way is to compose the articles yourselves. This may come quite challenging

but try to keep it nice and simple as possible. Pictures will help, as well as some video clips from

Youtube.com that are related to it. Remember to include all the sources of the articles (links). We

dont want to plagiarize, dont we?

The hybrid of the first and second way is another way. You can copy and paste articles

but with some modifications. Add some pictures and videos or links, or whatever you want to

edit to make it attractive.

STEPS:

1. Open Rakanmasjid.com portal.

2. Login as member.

3. Browse the ADMIN section and click on Back End.

4. Login as admin using the same username and password just now.

5. Click on Add New Article

9. Paste it into Joomla! And update.

1.2. Updating events organized by RMUTP

Updating events is easy. You can have the report of the event from Unit Wartawan/ or

you can write it yourself for more simplified version. Just copy and paste the report and make it

as new article. Dont forget to include some pictures.

1.3. Updating pictures

You can actually upload pictures to the website if you know the way. Theres no other

way than learning it. Do not afraid to learn the way to make it, because it is really easy and

simple steps. (For more information, refer to Head of Unit or anyone who knows).

1.4. Tips and tricks:

On updating the articles, and for your simplicity purpose, you can also use these steps

(make sure you have a blogspot.com account or whatever blog):

1. Write the articles in your blog first. I prefer blogspot.com. It is easier.

2. Include all the pictures and videos in your articles.

3. Copy all the html codes of your written articles

4. Using the rakanmasjid.com Joomla! Html mode, paste the copied html code and update.

5. Finish it with some modification if needed.

I prefer this way because it will save the portal empty spaces and also helps you to regularly

update your own personal blog.

2. FACEBOOK.COM & TWITTER.COM

This two are easy. What you will need to do are:

1. Update rakanmasjid.com new article link.2. Share something beneficial.3. Upload photos (occasionally)

2.1. Updating new article links:

In order to promote our portal Rakanmasjid.com, you can copy paste the link from the

new articles published to the news feeds of the facebook account as status.

2.2. Share something beneficial.

Share some interesting, yet beneficial and important in our daily life as Muslims.

Suggested sharing are:

1. Quotes from Al-Quran.2. Quotes from Rasullullah s.a.w and his companions.3. Words of wisdoms from Ulama.

4. Current issues related to Islam World (Palestines, Syria, etc)2.3. Things to remember:

What you shared will represent the RMUTP voice. Be wise in choosing the update status

and what you shared. Do not include any sensitive things such as politics, other student bodies

issues, etc.

One more thing is that, we own two accounts for Facebook.com. One is our personal

RMUTP account, and another one is the RMUTP group account. Update both of them.
