VeriChip H2™ Reader can assist
• The VeriChip H2™ Reader is a hand-held Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) reader which activates an implanted VeriMed™ Microtransponder with a low power, low frequency (LF) electromagnetic field.
• The Reader receives a unique 16-digit ID number from the VeriMed™ Microtransponder.
• The ID number is used to provide, with the patient’s consent, physicians, paramedics and other health professionals access to a secure database that will provide the implanted person’s identity and health information provided by the patient.
9
Is the Microchip MRI Compatible?
Yes.
Patients with the
VeriMed™ Microchip
may safely undergo
MRI Diagnostics
10
Is It A GPS Device?
No.
The VeriMed™ Microchip is not a GPS device, therefore, it cannot be used for tracking purposes.
11
Will it be noticed at security checkpoints the airport?
NO
There is not enough metal in the VeriChip™
12
Fire and EMS
• Fire and EMS are being provided with VeriChip H2™ Readers on all of the Advance Life Support Vehicles.
• This provides EMS the ability to utilize the VeriChip H2™ Reader in the field and to radio the VeriChip 16-digit number to any of the area Hospitals.
• Fire and EMS will have access to the patient’s medical identification for immediate care and billing purposes.
13
Working with Air Support
• We are providing VeriChip H2™ Readers for all OMNIFLIGHT Helicopters. Providing information to area hospitals from long distances.
• OMNIFLIGHT will be able to scan a trauma patient and relay that VeriChip™ number to an area hospital giving the trauma team extra time to learn about the medical history of the patient.
• Fire and EMS will be able to coordinate care with Air Ambulances.
14
How does it help?
Saves Valuable Time• Vital information is obtained
quickly via password protected, web enabled database.
Decreases medication errors• A patient’s medications, allergies
and diagnosis are easily accessed
through the Patient Registry
15
Patient’s physicians can be notified
• The Emergency Room team can notify physicians that their patient is at the hospital.
• Immediately requesting any specific information about that patient by viewing their Personal Healthcare Record.
16
Patient’s medications will be known
…when they are brought to emergency surgery.
…and when
they are due for
their next dosage.
17
Their loved ones can be called
18
The patient’s caregiver team can be notified
• Before, during and after a hospital stay. Their knowledge of the healthcare arena can assist the patient or their family who’s never dealt with any of these events before.
• They can assist in decisions for patients in regards to paperwork, resources, and implementation of the resident’s choices.
• Decreasing the stress when hospitals discharge patients. Work with discharge planners in the assistance of a patient leaving the hospital, in the transfer to a facility or back home.
