Wheatland’s 4th Annual Spring Fling was held on June 14th at the

Yuba Sutter Fairgrounds. Youth livestock members in Yuba Sutter

Counties showing beef, sheep, meat goats, dairy cattle and hogs

were invited to attend with the intention of giving the kids both in

FFA and 4-H an opportunity to get into a show ring with others and

have a judge evaluate them and their animals. The judges offered

opinions and advice.

Emma Cucchi and Nicky Romness of Franklin 4-H

Club created a 4-H presentation to explain how to set

up your 4-H Hat. They plan to do this presentation

for all members.

Thirteen youth leaders met to learn about club

leadership at the 2014 Club Officer Training held on

July 12 at the UCCE Office. Participants learned how

to make their club meetings more exciting, they

participated in lots of hands-on activities, and went

on a Club Officer Treasure hunt. Clubs represented at

the training were: Wheatland (9 members, wow!),

Guide Dogs, Franklin, and Plumas.

Congratulations to our

Pleasant Grove 4-H exhibi-

tors at The CA State Fair!!

All worked hard to earn top

honors!
