Hair Expo 2014: The best of the hairdressing world, right on your doorstep. Only Hair Expo promises the largest display of leading brands and product innovations in the southern hemisphere, with world-class education, international talent and live performances that celebrate the creativity of our extraordinary industry.

2014 brings with it an exciting new waterside venue at the Sydney Exhibition Centre, Glebe Island, as well as the incredible new Gala Night venue: The Star.

Highlights of the weekend are sure to be in the talents of international stars this year, which include: Russian Wella global artist, Dmitry Vinokurov, bringing his unique European creativity to Australian shores; Australian hairstylist, salon owner and television personality Tabatha Coffey, sharing her essential business-building skills and story of success; the multi-award winning Trevor Sorbie Art Team, presenting the brand’s creative expertise and AVEDA’s Antoinette Beenders as the main act for Sunday night’s GenNext Gala.

These amazing stars are joined by local heroes such as: Frank Apostolopoulos and Sara Allsop, opening the festivities of the weekend with the Saturday Gala Night show; as well as seminars and creative education from Lorna Evans, Joey Scandizzo, Sharon Blain, Tracey Hughes and makeup maestro, Rae Morris.

This is really just the tip of the iceberg this year, with so much to see and an amazing new venue to see it in – you’re in for an exciting event.

Located just 10 minutes from Darling Harbour, getting to Hair Expo is as easy as ever.

FERRYTake the complimentary ferry to Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island, departing daily from Convention Centre Jetty in Darling Harbour (outside Cyren Restaurant – Harbourside Shopping Centre). Running every 15 minutes from:

Saturday 9am – 6pm

Sunday 9am – 7pm

Monday 9am – 5pm

The ferry terminal is located outside Hall 1 at Sydney Exhibition Centre.

TAXIAsk your Taxi Driver to take you to Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island, James Craig Road Glebe Island. A taxi concierge will be available for your trip home, located at the taxi rank outside Hall 3.

BUSBoard the complimentary bus to Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island from Central Station (the country bus terminal on Eddy Avenue) and from Darling Harbour (corner of Murray St and Union St – opposite Pyrmont Bridge Hotel).

Buses departs every 20 minutes. Travel time is approximately 20-30 minutes from Central Station and 15 minutes from Darling Harbour. Buses will drop you outside Hall 3 and return services are available from outside Hall 1 at the bus stop.

PARKINGParking is available onsite at Sydney Exhibition Centre, $35 per day. Enter via James Craig Road.

Alternatively Wilson Parking at Harbouside Shopping Centre, 10 Murray St Darling Harbour, Hair Expo have discounted parking vouchers available from customer service for a fl at rate of $16, please collect before departing the Exhibition Centre then board the bus.

STYLISH NEW QUARTERS FOR HAIR EXPO’S GALA NIGHTS – THE STAR

Introducing The Star – the new home to our glamorous gala nights. Hair Expo gala nights are renowned for being visual feasts that showcase the industry’s hottest talent. And this year as part of Hair Expo’s new Glebe Island Convention Centre relocation, the gala nights are getting an upgrade to Sydney’s most prestigious entertainment venue.

The Star will host all 3 Evening Gala events: Saturday Night Opening Gala sponsored by Wella Professionals from 7.30pm, Sunday Night GenNext Gala sponsored by Aveda from 7.30pm and Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Expo Awards from 7.00pm Monday night.

The Star – conveniently located in the Darling Harbor precinct, minutes from the Exhibition Centre via a taxi or free bus service. The bus will drop you 1 minute walk from The Star on the corner of Murray St and Union St Pyrmont. Refer to schedule on page 5.

BUSINESS AND PERSONAL LIFE?For balancing business and personal life, my fi rst tip would be to not own your own start up. Second would be to make sure you have enough time to rejuvenate yourself – each day outside of the offi ce, I try to go for a 30 minute run…that usually works.
