Good Evening Pittsboro! Thank you for coming to see Hairspray! The process to get to this point started with selecting a show that would entertain the audience and hopefully be memorable for our cast. We

landed on Hairspray, a fun, colorful show set in 1960s Baltimore. We soon realized what an important show this would be for ourselves as well as our community. Civil rights is a huge issue now just as it was in the 60s. It is amazing to see how far, as a country, we have come and equally amazing to see how far we still have to go.

As a cast and crew we have been preparing for this show for three months. Through pit rehearsals, dance rehearsals, stage blocking, set painting and vocal rehearsals we have arrived at an amazing display of the talent here at Northwood. I am grateful for all the hard work that the directors and stu-dents have put into this production. We missed nine rehearsals and had to buckle down and work twice as hard. But as you are about to see, the hard work has definitely paid off.
