Meet the Children of Johnny’s Orphanage

After an April 2013 trip to these Port au Prince orphanages we were saddened to see

increased numbers of hungry children. We’ve featured several of them in this slideshow.

Kanycha- 6 months oldHer parents left her at the orphanage. They have four more

children and cannot care for her. If the orphanage did not take her her parents would have thrown her away.

Nathanaelle-2 months oldThere is no information about his parents. He was left in a house where someone found him and brought him to the

orphanage.

Richkard Maximilien- 10 years oldHe was lost on the streets when they tried to make contact

with his family, his family had moved.

Edore Michael Valme- 7 years old His mother could not care for him. She brought him to the

orphanage for education.

Roodjina Joseph- 6 years oldShe was found at the hospital and they brought her to the

orphanage.

Abbigael Chery- 7 years oldHe was found on the streets and he cannot find his home.

Toyenne Pierre- 7 years oldShe was found on the street. She has been in the orphanage

since she was 1 year old.

Renes Alexis-12 years oldHe was found on the streets.

Jemesa Salomon- 5 years oldShe cannot speak or walk, she appears to have Cerebral Palsy. Her mother brought her here because her husband who is not

Jemesa’s father was beating her.

Genese Charles- 5 years oldHer mother cannot care for her.

Samuel Alexis- 5 years oldThe only family he has is his grandmother and she cannot

take care of him.

Baba-7 years oldShe was found on the street. She is deaf and mute.

Francois Jovely- 16 years oldHer parents come to visit her but they cannot care for her.

Wilise Passe- 7 years oldShe was found on the streets.

Bebe- 7 years oldHe was found on the streets

Prenel Alcean- 7 years oldHe is from the countryside. His family cannot care for him

but they come to visit him.

Davidson Davices- 6 years old.

Berry Septimiste- 10 years oldShe was found on the streets.

Wilfred Prejusma- 10 years oldHis mother comes to visit him but she cannot care for him.

Jr. Baptiste Steve- 10 years oldA cousin brought him to the orphanage because he could

not care for him.

Pierre Djovanie- 10 years oldSomeone dropped her off and they have no information about

her family. She may have ran away due to possible abuse.

6 years old.

Betchina Dirogene- 7 years oldHer mother comes to visit her.

Wiscenel Jr. Baptiste- 9 years oldHe lived in the countryside. His family still comes to visit

him.

Kimberlie Morilais- 12 years oldHer family dropped her off at the gate to the orphanage and

left her there.

Kervens Dieudonne- 13 years oldHis parents died in the earthquake and someone dropped

him off at the orphanage.
