Function Principle and Measurement

HaliSens allows a rapid and reliable determination of the concentration of hydrogen sulfide from 5 ml sample gas volume. Halitosis can be characterized with the detection of hydrogen sulfide which is the most important gas component for the determination of halitosis. So the evaluation of the severity of halitosis can be done with high accuracy. The hydrogen sulfide sensor simultaneously detects additional volatile sulfur components (VSC's), which also contributes to halitosis.

With a sterile syringe a breathing gas sample from the oral cavity is injected into the injection port of the instrument. The measured signal and the concentration in ppb are displayed graphically on the display of the PC in real time.

The integrated patient management allows retrospective consideration and the medical treatment of halitosis can be traced at any time.
