The school is open to individual students aged 16 and above (under 18 year olds must have

2.1 General English Standard (15 hrs)

The General English Standard course is 15 hours a week and takes place in the mornings. The course is designed to improve your English through the four language skills; reading, writing, listening and speaking. In addition to the four skills, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation are also taught. Our aim in General English is to help you develop the English skills and language you need to communicate clearly and effectively in real life situations with other speakers of English. We also help you to develop your study skills so that you can improve your English both inside and outside the classroom. Afternoon lessons such as Skills & Culture, Academic Preparation or Exam Preparation, (which are 6 hours a week) can be added to this course.

Each course runs over a 15 week term for 3 terms a year (there is a 5 week term at the end of the year). Students can join the school any Monday. In the middle of each term there is a progress test and at the end there is an end of term test which will determine whether you are ready to move to the next level.

2.2 General English Intensive (21 hours) Students enrolled on an Intensive English course will also have additional tuition in the afternoon (2.00 -3.30pm). There are no afternoon classes on Fridays. These classes are to practise your fluency and focus on all four English skills: Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening. Please note that class hours will be reduced if the number of students falls below 4.
