CALL FOR LIFE GROUP LEADERS
We are about to commence another season of Life Groups. Every August we offer everyone a new opportunity to sign up for the Life Group of his or her choice. This is a chance to join a group or to remain in your current group. This is also an occasion for those who wish to become Life Group Leaders to be trained to do so.
Life Groups are an incredibly important part of our congregation. Our goal is to accomplish Paul’s word in 1 Thessalonians 2:18, “Because we love you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.” We see Life Groups as a key ingredient to spiritual growth and maturity in faith.
If you are interested in becoming a Life Group Leader consider it prayerfully. If you wish to become involved or have questions contact Josh Costen at
Heartfelt Groups SAVE THE DATE
Has God called you to mentor young moms? We are looking for 12-16 women to form groups of 4 and host the young moms once a month for a meal, encouragement and a laugh or two. The deadline to sign up is August 26. Contact Lori Ford for info
All heart moms are encouraged to attend an informational meeting led by Linda Copeland on Wed August 28 & Wed Sep 5 during evening class.
The members of the Women's Ministry Team are:
Ercy Deal, Lori Ford, Rachel Fowler. Dawn King, Gelene McFadden and Mavenee Thibodeaux.
Thank You

SUN AUG 19 Family Life Center 4:00 - 6:00 pm
We would love to treat Parents & Children to dinner and ice cream as our children head back to school. We will have a special time of prayer for our students. We will also use this time as an opportunity to serve those less fortunate and support HAAM. Bring loose leaf paper, colored pencils and markers to donate to HAAM.

Nursing Home Singing
Due to the flooding last year from Hurricane Harvey, our Nursing Home Singing ended. However, TODAY, we will resume our visits on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Regent Care remains closed, so we will be visiting Arbor Terrace from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. We will sing the old favorites and everyone is invited to join, regardless of singing ability. The residents enjoy this so much and are always uplifted.
Contact Melissa Zinsitz at
281-743-0863 for info.
Dear Kingwood Church of Christ Family,
We are so grateful for everything you have done to support us during this sad
time as we mourn the loss of my mother, Ida Deal. Thank you very much for
your kindness in sending the beautiful Peace Lily to the funeral home for
Mom’s funeral. Our hearts were touched and we felt your presence. Prayers
are powerful and we feel you prayers indeed. Please know that we appreciate
each and every one of you. Thank you for being there for us. We love y’all
very much.
With sincere thanks - Frank & Ercy Deal
Thank you, church, for your loving support following the passing of my
father. The plant you sent was beautiful. We so appreciate the many ways
you reached out to comfort us in our time of grief. I thank God for you, your
generosity and concern. John Walker and family

WED NIGHT MEALS
Fall is quickly approaching and your Elders are currently looking for a person or family to head up our Wed night meals. The meals have been a part of our Wed nights for a very long time now and we would like to keep it going. This is a ministry that allows our families to more easily attend classes without worrying about feeding the family after work.
Kim Springer did an excellent job in the past and we appreciate all her hard work. If this is something that would interest you, please contact one of the Elders.
VENEZUELAN COLLECTION
Over $22,600 was given for the Venezuelan relief efforts! Thanks to all who contributed funds and continue to faithfully pray for the situation there. May God greatly bless each of you!
