Fifth Sunday of Easter
Today's reading from the Gospel of John (Jn. 14:1-12) made reference to Jesus being "the
way, and the truth, and the life." (Jn. 14:6) In other words, the way to find the truth and life as
a royal priest is through Jesus. For their is only one Mediator between God and mankind. (1
Tim. 2:5)
Among other sayings, Jesus made a statement that has often been interpreted to mean that all
Churches are equal. That saying was, "In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If
it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?" (Jn. 14:2) Those
who have misinterpreted this passage have made the claim that all are called and belong to the
royal priesthood, be they Catholic or not, be they baptized or not, having the Sacraments or not, having faith in
Jesus Christ as the one Savior or believing in a human prophet. Indeed, all are called, but not all necessarily belong
to the royal priesthood.
So when Jesus said that there were many dwelling places in the Father's house, He was telling the truth. We know
that there is Heaven and there is purgatory. And then there are the thousands and thousands of Temples that are
found in all the royal priests of the past, present and future Body of Christ. When Jesus made reference to going to
prepare a place for the apostles, it was a reference to the sending of the Holy Spirit. It was a reference to preparing
a Temple within the apostles for the Holy Spirit to make His indwelling in each and every one of them.
In conclusion, to have been called as members of the royal priesthood of God, is a very special and free blessing
that is undeserved because of our sinful nature. This week, let us reflect on this blessing of being a chosen race, a
royal priesthood, a holy nation and god's own people. In thanksgiving, let us proclaim the mighty acts of Him who
called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. (1 Pet. 4:9)
Quinto Domingo de Pascua La lectura de hoy del Evangelio de Juan (Jn.14:1-12) hace referencia a que Jesús es "el
camino, la verdad, y la vida." (Jn.14:6) En otras palabras, la manera de encontrar la verdad
y la vida como un sacerdote real es a través de Jesús. Porque solo hay un mediador entre
Dios y la humanidad. (1Timoteo 2:5)
Entre otros dichos, Jesús hizo una declaración que a menudo se ha interpretado en el
sentido de que todas las iglesias son iguales. Ese dicho fue: "En la casa de mi Padre hay
muchas moradas. Si no fuera así, ¿os habría dicho que voy a preparar un lugar para
usted?" (Jn.14:2) Los que han malinterpretado este pasaje han hecho la afirmación de que
todos están llamados y pertenecen al sacerdocio real, ya sean católicos o no, sean bautizados o no, tengan los
sacramentos o no, teniendo fe en Jesucristo como el único Salvador o creyendo en un profeta humano. De
hecho, todos son llamados, pero no todos necesariamente pertenecen al sacerdocio real.
Por eso, cuando Jesús dijo que había muchas moradas en la casa del Padre, él estaba diciendo la verdad.
Sabemos que existe el Cielo y el purgatorio. Y luego están los miles y miles de templos que se encuentran en
todos los sacerdotes reales del pasado, presente y futuro Cuerpo de Cristo. Cuando Jesús hizo referencia a ir a
preparar un lugar para los apóstoles, era una referencia al envío del Espíritu Santo. Era una referencia a la
preparación de un templo dentro de los apóstoles por el Espíritu Santo para hacer Su morada en todos y cada
uno de ellos. 0
En conclusión, el ser llamados como miembros del sacerdocio real de Dios es una bendición muy especial y
gratuita que no es merecida debido a nuestra naturaleza pecaminosa. Esta semana, vamos a reflexionar sobre
esta bendición de ser una raza elegida, un sacerdocio real, una nación santa y pueblo de Dios. En acción de
gracias, proclamemos las virtudes de aquel que nos llamó de las tinieblas a su luz admirable. (1 Ped. 4:9)
