Our Her i ta g eGranvi l le Oral Roberts was born January, 24 1918 in Pontotoc County Oklahoma, the f i f th and youngest chi ld of Rev. and

Mrs. El l is M. Roberts.

After being miraculously healed from tuberculosis and a stutter ing problem at the age of 17, he immediately left high school and went into ministry. His subsequent education consisted roughly two years of col lege study undertaken

at Bible schools in Oklahoma.

His cal l ing into the heal ing ministry and a bel ief that “something good is going to happen to you” helped to affect mi l l ions with the love of Jesus Christ

and bel ief that “God is a good God.”

Later Oral would be cal led by God saying:

“Raise up your students to hear my voice, to go where my l ight is dim, where my heal ing power is not known, even to uttermost bounds of the earth. Their work wi l l exceed yours, and in this I

am wel l pleased.”

Here at Oral Roberts Univers ity, we are proud to offer a world-class education from a Christ ian perspective. Our goal is educate individuals using a whol ist ic approach, educating mind, body, and

spir i t equal ly.
