Capel Manor GardensInspiration all year round…Our beautiful 30 acre estate, first established in the late 13thcentury, provides a colourful and scented oasis surrounding aGeorgian Manor House and Victorian Stables. With over 60 gardensto explore you’ll be inspired by prize winning themed gardens, someyou may even recognise as previous Chelsea Flower Show winners,as well as front and back model gardens and historical gardens.Come and enjoy the stunning scenery and take home some ideas foryour own garden!

You can explore and enjoy…• themed gardens; Japanese Garden,

Secured by Design and Le Jardin deVincent;

• historical gardens; The Walled Garden,the 17th Century Garden, Italianate Mazeand newly opened The Old Manor HouseGarden (phase 2 opens in June 2011);

• the National Gardening Centre withspecially designed gardens;

• Sunflower Street, seven model gardensdesigned by former students;

• Which? Gardening – part of theconsumer organisation Which?, with itstrial and demonstration gardens formainly ornamental plants, fruits andvegetables; and

• animal corner with Shetland ponies,poultry, pigmy goats and Rheas. The Exotic Room with snakes, lizards,amphibians and arachnids is open atweekends between 11.30am–12noonand 1.30pm–2pm from April to October.

Disabled facilities…• The gardens at Capel Manor are mainly

on one level. The paths are gravel,tarmac or stone and most of thegardens are accessible to wheelchairusers. There are toilet facilities for thedisabled on our estate;

• As a special concession, onehelper/pusher/carer is admitted free ofcharge with each wheelchair visitor;

• There are a limited number ofwheelchairs available to borrow. Pleaselet us know in advance if you wish toreserve any in order to avoiddisappointment; and

• Audio loops are located at the mainreception. Large print copies of thisleaflet are available on request.

Getting here…Capel Manor is situated just off junction 25of the M25 and the A10. From the M25follow the A10 towards Enfield andLondon. At the first set of traffic lights,turn right onto Bullsmoor Lane. CapelManor Gardens are situated on the righthand side of the road.From London follow the A10 northboundand turn left down Bullsmoor Lane beforereaching the M25.Please look out for brown tourism signs onall routes. Santa will be in his grotto in theVictorian themed Manor House, plusthere’ll be carol singing, roasting chestnutstogether with children’s entertainment withmagic shows throughout the afternoon,face painting and the ever popular tractorrides across the grounds. If you’re feelingfull of the Christmas Spirit then maybeyou’d like to donate a gift for someone lessfortunate at Capel’s Giving Tree (inassociation with Noah’s Ark Children’sHospice). Simply bring in a wrappedpresent with a sticker indicating the idealage and sex of the recipient.
