Dorayi is one of the palaces of the Emir constructed by Sarkin Kano Alhaji Abdullahi Bayero (1920-1953). Hawan Dorayi is usually the last procession of the Sallah festivities, coming after Hawan Sallah, Hawan Daushe and Hawan Nassarawa. The Emir leaves the Palace from Kofar Kwaru early in the morning before 8 am. The Hawan Dorayi like all other processions enables the Emir to acknowledge greetings from people living in the western part of Kano The contingent passes through Daneji, Mandawari, Dandago, Sani Mainagge Quarters to Kofar Famfo The Emir stays in Dorayi Palace until after Asr Prayer when he starts the return journey through Kofar Famfo passes through Goron Dutse, Bakin Ruwa, Jakara, Tudun Nufawa, Makwarari, Sheshe and terminates at Soron Dinki where he stops at Gidan Shatima for the Hakimi to pass before proceeding to Kofar Kwaru. He acknowledges the greetings from the horse riders at the termination of the Durbar. Before he reaches where he stops to acknowledge the greetings he passes through a parade with the Sullubawan Dabo title holders (Princes) on one side, eastern side (or west in the case of Kofar Fatalwa) and other aristocrats on another side, west (or east in the case of Kofar Fatalwa) leaving the centre for the passage of the emir. . .
