In 2010, downtown Hattiesburg hosted the inaugural season of FestivalSouth, Mississippi’s only multi-week, multi-genre music festival. FestivalSouth has since expanded to include all forms of artistic and cultural events such as art exhibitions, wine tastings, an arts market, a lecture series and much more. FestivalSouth’s outstanding artists offer events to satisfy the tastes of every arts lover.

With FestivalSouth, Hattiesburg becomes one of “Mississippi’s Premier Arts Destinations.” In addition to presenting high-quality entertainment, FestivalSouth also teaches the next generation of young artists through educational programs led by experienced professionals.

Not all cultural events are for adults. They can also be for children of all ages. Artie was designed and conceived by Hattiesburg native Ivey Swan to promote arts in education. Artie’s motto is Arts, A Road to Success (A.R.T.S.) The Hattiesburg Concert Association is pleased to partner with Artie to help educate and entertain HCA’s youngest participants.

The Meistersingers Civic Chorus has been a part of the Hattiesburg Concert Association (HCA) since 1996. It was the original artistic component of HCA. It has created lasting memories with exceptionally entertaining concerts, galas and musical productions. The Meistersingers personnel have included talented amateur and professional vocalists from throughout the area. This civic chorus has been known for presenting some of the most creative, respected and well-attended cultural events in the state and region. The Meistersingers Civic Chorus continues to be an important part of the annual cultural offerings by HCA.

HCA’s Destination Series offers year round cultural events that include musical performances, art exhibitions, lectures, book signings and other special presentations. Created by HCA in cooperation with the Oddfellows Gallery, the Historic Hattiesburg Downtown Association, The University of Southern Mississippi and William Carey University. This series provides both Hattiesburg residents and visitors with wonderful opportunities to enjoy high quality cultural events in Hattiesburg.
