The Head of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a member of the Head Master’s Executive and is responsible to the Head Master for all aspects of ICT provisions in the School. The role is responsible for the continued development and implementation of the school’s ICT Strategic plan. Additionally, this role will be responsible for developing and delivering ICT systems, applications and infrastructure, maintaining leadership and governance, service delivery and support. The Director of ICT will be responsible for keeping the school at the forefront of learning technologies to enhance the teaching and learning capacity of staff and students, communication with stakeholders and the smooth and efficient function of the School.

The mission of Trinity Grammar School is to provide a thoroughly Christian education for its boys, imparting knowledge and understanding of the world we live in, and recognising the importance of spiritual qualities in every sphere of learning and living. The School actively encourages its students to grow in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and man.

Trinity Grammar School is the largest Anglican Boys’ day and boarding School in NSW with an enviable reputation and tradition for serving the educational needs of boys and young men over a number of generations. The School has campuses located in Summer Hill (Senior, Middle and Junior School), Strathfield (Preparatory School), and our Field Studies Centre at Woollamia on the NSW South Coast. Since its founding in 1913, Trinity has forged a reputation for outstanding academic results, a caring pastoral programme, a broad range of co-curricular activities and an emphasis on both traditional and community sports. The School has an enrolment of over 2100 students from Pre- Kindergarten to Year 12 and over 400 Staff.

All members of staff are appointed by the Head Master and they are responsible to him for the overall performance of their duties. The Head Master delegates his authority to senior staff members for the effective management of the School.

THE ROLE

ROLE REQUIREMENTS Æ A high level of expertise in ICT leadership at a senior level,

within a large corporate organisation or leading school.

Æ Proven leadership in the development and delivery of organisation, or school wide ICT strategies, systems and services in a dynamic environment.

Æ A strong people manager, with experience in leading teams, and experience in project and program management.

Æ Ability to understand the role of ICT facilitating effective delivery of a high quality teaching and learning outcome.

Æ Experience in development of communication strategies with a proven capability to confidently engage and manage stakeholders at all levels.

Æ Experience in vendor management; experience across the full procurement lifecycle including Multi-campus/Multiple Business Unit budget engagement.

Æ Excellent service delivery skills, and demonstrable understanding of ITIL environments and historic implementation of ITIL practices.

Æ An ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure, whilst motivating the team

Æ An outstanding communicator and stakeholder engagement through both, written and verbal communications, to ensure engaging, effective and collaborative outcomes are achieved.

Æ Demonstrate high standards of professional and personal integrity and a capacity to promote these in a Christian School context.

LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE

Æ Build the capacity of both staff and students to utilise ICT in supporting the School’s mission.

Æ Lead the continued development, refinement and implementation of the School’s ICT Strategic Plan incorporating the following areas: ICT leadership and Governance; Teaching and Learning; Information Management and Application Architecture; Infrastructure Architecture; ICT Organisation and Operations; Data Analytics.

Æ Oversee the operations of the ICT Steering Committee and report to the Head Master and the Head Master’s Executive on the ICT programme.

Æ Lead, coordinate and direct ICT team leaders.

Æ Continue to develop and refine associated application integration to the School Management System.

Æ Oversee ICT governance issues, risk and compliance, security and data management, disaster recovery and business continuity requirements.

Æ Plan, submit and coordinate ICT budgets across all campuses. Coordinate and manage procurement processes and be responsible for the effective engagement of external ICT providers.

INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND APPLICATION ARCHITECTURE

Æ Oversee and coordinate the development and further integration of the School Management System to enable effective operation of the School.

Æ Develop and coordinate the implementation of appropriate communications platform for the school, including internal and external interfaces, in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders.

Æ Oversee and coordinate the further development of appropriate Data Analytics within the School.

Æ Coordinate the successful implementation of a School-wide Data and Information Management strategy.

TEACHING AND LEARNING

Æ Oversee and coordinate the development of best practice in the use of learning technologies to enhance the teaching and learning at the School in coordination with the Academic Dean and the curriculum office.

Æ Oversee and coordinate the further development of the School’s Learning Management System and other appropriate education tools.

Æ In conjunction with the Academic Dean, foster innovation to maintain the school at the forefront of integrating educational ICT applications and systems to enhance Teaching and Learning and educational outcomes.

INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECTURE

Æ Oversee the development and maintenance of all ICT infrastructure ensure best practice and up to date equipment.

Æ Develop and implement solutions for ICT infrastructure needs through the school.

Æ Maintain and develop appropriate electronic data storage and security solutions for the school.

ICT ORGANISATION AND OPERATIONS

Æ Build a cohesive and high functioning ICT team.

Æ Develop clear and easily-accessed channels for communication and support regarding ICT operations.

DATA ANALYTICS

Æ Drive the development of online solutions for the capture of student data to optimise administration process across the School.

Æ Build staff capacity to access and utilise data through the development of data-visualisation resources and tools.
