This is the fourth season of Heads Up Festival. At previous festivals productions have taken place in a variety of venues, from circus tents to open fields and village halls. We are delighted that this season we are able to present work at Kardomah94, Hull Truck and within the inspirational surroundings of Hull Central Library. Our ‘festival hub’ is arts space Kardomah94 - a great place to eat, drink, have conversations and enjoy performances. A new one-woman play that, through her letters, recalls the life and poetry of Winifred Holtby (1898 - 1935). Single Story Theatre Company return to Heads Up Festival with another piece of original theatre made right here in Hull.

ABOUT HEADS UP FESTIVALHull-based company E52 in conjunction with renowned Battersea Arts Centre present some of the most exciting contemporary British and international theatre at venues throughout the city of Hull. The festival takes place twice a year with locally-curated work including workshops, new productions, scratch events, school projects, and exhibitions.

We are delighted that we are able to work in partnership with venues and companies enabling Heads Up to provide Hull with some outstanding productions. For the first time the festival has partnered with Hull Truck Theatre.We are also delighted that Hull-based companies and theatremakers Single Story and Penny Duck continue to develop and premiere their new work at the festival.

ABOUT THE COLLABORATIVE TOURING NETWORKThe Collaborative Touring Network is a partnership between Battersea Arts Centre and six regions across the UK, working together to develop seasons of work which combine signature Battersea Arts Centre shows with homegrown talent.
