Jess Thom has Tourettes, a condition that makes her say ‘biscuit’ 16,000 times a day. Her unusual neurology gives her a unique perspective on life; one she’s unleashed on the world. This two-woman solo show weaves comedy, puppetry, singing, and incredible tics.

LO:CUS Dance Theatre are a new, all-female contemporary dance quartet based in Hull and East Yorkshire. At Heads Up, LO:CUS will present existing pieces, brand new work and screenings of films they have been involved in.

ABOUT HEADS UP FESTIVALHull-based company E52 in conjunction with renowned Battersea Arts Centre present some of the most exciting contemporary British and international theatre at venues throughout the city of Hull. The festival takes place twice a year with locally-curated work including workshops, new productions, scratch events, school projects, and exhibitions.

We are delighted that we are able to work in partnership with venues and companies enabling Heads Up to provide Hull with some outstanding productions. We continue our partnership with Kardomah94, where Ensemble 52 is resident theatre company, and look forward to presenting work in Hull City Council’s Guildhall and at St Paul’s Boxing Academy. We are also pleased to welcome LO:CUS Dance and Non Applicables to the festival.

ABOUT THE COLLABORATIVE TOURING NETWORKThe Collaborative Touring Network is a partnership between Battersea Arts Centre and six regions across the UK, working together to develop seasons of work which combine signature Battersea Arts Centre shows with homegrown talent.
