We offer our condolences and prayers to the family and friends of Brad Thigpen, nephew of Gwen King and cousin to Beth Simpson, who entered into the Resurrection on May 12th.

We thank Buddy Hilbish for providing the parish with two additional All Saints' signs that will be placed near the corner of Country Club and Lake Concord Roads.

A belated Thank You to David Abernathy for serving on the Alumni & Friends team during the Capital Campaign. He was inadvertently missed in the original Thank You page for the “Set Free to Serve” campaign.

We offer our condolences and prayers to the family and friends of Kenneth Kirkpatrick, brother of James Kirkpatrick and brother-in-law of Liz Rogers, who entered into the Resurrection on May 31st.

Thank you to Tina Luckey, who stepped in on short notice and on a temporary basis to serve the parish that she loves as an administrative assistant. She has been a bright presence in the office, offering welcome and reassurance to people using our space for outside events and greatly assisting lay leaders during the Capital Campaign.

A Pounding for Michael, Joanna, and Charles Whitnah Several years ago I organized a pounding for our new rector at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Family. I would like to do that for the Whitnah family. A pounding is stocking the new home when a new family moves into the community. It may have been a Methodist tradition. Long ago, people would stock the home with staples such as butter, sugar, and flour. I think we can have a ton of fun stocking their home with useful items needed today. If you would like to donate to the pounding, then I will accept donations at anytime. You may also include a card or note to the Whitnah’s, if you like. Below are only a few ideas. Thank you! -Fran Burkett

I am a cradle Episcopalian, having been baptized at the Church of Our Savior in Atlanta, GA. Then I took a 50 year detour through the Baptist Church, finally coming home and being confirmed by Bishop Curry at All Saints’ in 2006.

I have been attending All Saints’ for 20 years. I am finally officially retired.

I enjoy all sports, especially the Atlanta Braves and UNC Charlotte football, basketball, soccer, and baseball.

My favorite Bible verse is “In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets.” Matthew 7:12

SUBMISSION DEADLINE Sunday Announcements are due by Monday at noon. Announcements

received after that time may appear the following week. Please address email to [email protected].
