Scaffolding Safe Use Training

This RRC-certified course provides an introduction to different types of scaffolding and how to work safely when using scaffolding; it provides the knowledge and understanding to identify hazards associated with working on scaffolding.

Who should attend Scaffolding Safe Use Training?Safety officers, workers, supervisors and any individuals in which their working environment requires the use of scaffold.

Entry RequirementsThere are no entry requirements for enrolling on the Scaffolding Safe Use Training course; however, a basic understanding of health and safety is preferred.

Course ContentThe course will outline the following units:> Scale of the problem (statistics, fatalities,

injuries and cost).> Legal duty and enforcement action.> Introduction to basic scaffold.> Scaffold fittings.> Scaffold hazards and control measures.> The basic personal protective equipment required.> Signs of scaffold collapse.> Fall protection and fall arrest equipment.> Pitfalls recognition and control.

Scaffold Inspection

This RRC-certified course involves actual ‘real time’ inspections of pre-built scaffold structures. Candidates will need to provide suitable scaffolds of traditional steel and/or system scaffolding types in order to achieve the inspection part of the course.

Who should attend Scaffold Inspection?Safety officers, managers, supervisors and workers required to inspect the scaffold.

Entry Requirements Candidates should have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of scaffolding, and be able to recognise and name the various parts of the scaffold.

Course ContentThe course will outline the following units:> Review scaffolds components and fundamentals.> Introduction to scaffold inspection.> The legal requirements.> Stability factors, tying patterns and safe working loads.> Working platform requirements.> Recording procedures.> Practical inspection workshop.> Reasons why scaffolds collapse.> Inspection requirements.> Fault finding inspections system scaffolds.> The scaffold system in operations.

First Aid, CPR and AED

This course is designed to certify first aiders to provide first aid at work and is valid for two years. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students the critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first-aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the few minutes before Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrive.

Who should attend First Aid, CPR and AED?Appointed first aiders and any other individuals can benefit from this course.

Entry RequirementsThere are no entry requirements for enrolling on American Heart Association First Aid, CPR and AED course.

Course ContentThe course will outline the following units:> First-aid basics.> Medical emergencies.> Injury emergency.> Environmental emergencies.> Adult CPR and AED use.> Optional modules in child CPR and AED use

and infant CPR.> Optional written test.

Course Assessment> Written assessment.> Practical assessment.

Upon successful completion, the candidate is entitled to a certificate of completion and first-aid card issued by King Hamad University Hospital, valid for two years.

Medic First Aid / Medic First Aid Plus

MEDIC First Aid Basic Plus is a combined adult CPR, AED, and first-aid training programme designed specifically for the occupational first-aid provider. This extremely flexible programme will help employers meet OSHA and other federal and US State regulatory requirements for training employees in how to respond and care for medical emergencies at work.

Who should attend Medic First Aid?Any individuals who are interesting in becoming an approved first aider can benefit from this course.

Entry RequirementsThere are no entry requirements for enrolling on the Medic First Aid course.

Course ContentThe course will outline the following units:> First-aid basics.> Medical emergencies.> Injury emergencies. > Environmental emergencies.> CPR and AED.

Fire Warden

This RRC-certified course is designed to provide the knowledge for learners to take on the role of a fire warden at their workplace, enabling them to effectively perform their duties during emergency situations, specifically in helping occupiers to evacuate safely.

Who should attend Fire Warden?Health and safety officers, supervisors, team leaders, fire marshals and any individual who is responsible for the safety and well-being of other individuals in the organisation.

Entry RequirementsThere are no entry requirements for enrolling on the fire warden training course; however, a general understanding of basic fire safety is preferred (this could be obtained by attending basic fire-fighting course).

Course ContentThe course will outline the following units:> Duties of the fire wardens, preventive structures

measures.> Fire hazard identification and control.> Dealing with fire alarm systems.> Fire drills and emergency fire plan, evacuating

the workplace.> Fire detection and warning.> Understanding fire, and method of fire spread

Confined Space

This RRC-certified course is aimed to provide knowledge and safety awareness to all individuals who are involved in confined-space activities. This course is also aimed to provide practical training and to establish a safe system of work in confined-space areas and safe use of gas-detection equipment. The session includes practical demonstration of the equipment used, including a gas test and a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) set.

Who should attend Confined Space?Health and safety officers, supervisors and those who work in confined spaces.

Entry RequirementsCandidates should be physically fit and not suffer from any health conditions that could present a risk to their safety when taking part in the practical training.
