ELIGIBILITYSelection of the Fellow will be on a competitive basis from a national pool of candidates with doctoral scientific and/or clinical training and a demonstrated interest in health economics and/or outcomes research.

YEAR 1

Rutgers University

GlaxoSmithKline

During the first year, the Fellow will develop foundational knowledge and skills through didactic and applied learning. The Fellow will spend four days per week at GlaxoSmithKline working in the Value Evidence and Outcomes (VEO) team near Philadelphia. One day per week will be spent at Rutgers University’s Center for Health Outcomes, Policy, and Economics (HOPE), a short drive away in central New Jersey. The Fellow will be immersed in GlaxoSmithKline projects and will enroll in up to four graduate courses towards the Rutgers Master of Science in Health Outcomes, Policy, and Economics. Additionally, the Fellow will be encouraged to participate in a teaching activity at Rutgers during the first year and will be provided with opportunities to engage in academic research and publishing. The Fellow will also attend at least one national conference during the first year.

YEAR 2

GlaxoSmithKline

During the second year, the Fellow will work at GlaxoSmithKline five days per week to further their educational and professional objectives and build upon the knowledge and skills developed in their first year. The Fellow will attend at least one professional networking meeting or conference during the second year.
