HELLO COUNSELORS-IN-TRAINING!Hello and welcome to the Camp Grady Spruce Counselor-In-Training video application process! We hope that you will put great effort into making this video fun, creative and true to who you are. Feel free to use props, other people or anything you can imagine that will show us how creative and outgoing you are. We want to see how you represent and reflect our core values, honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. When we are searching for the people that will be the next generation of camp counselors, we must make sure that they are willing to put the time and passion into what camp passion into what camp works towards. The mission of Camp Grady Spruce is to provide exceptional outdoor programs that inspire, build, and strengthen relationships with God, His creation, and each other.
Please include these in your video (have fun and add whatever you like!):
* Introduce yourself.
* Describe yourself in five words or less.
* Lead your favorite camp song.
* * Tell us about your favorite camp memory!
* Why would you recommend camp to a friend?
* Tell us about a time you showed leadership even when it was difficult.
* What makes you a good role model?
* Camp is designed to be an educational event for kids. Give some examples of what you learned from camp?
* * Tell us about a time you had to make a hard decision? What was the problem? What were the action or steps you took to make your choice? What were the consequences? Looking back do you think you would have done it differently or made a different choice?
* Make an instructional video of you making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich like you are going to show it to someone who has never had one! Persuade that person why they need to try the deliciousness!
* Introduce and Interview a friend, teacher, coach, mentor, parent or guardian and ask them to describe describe you in 10 words or less. 3 interviews minimum! Be creative!
* Give us your best elevator speech that would convince someone that doesn’t know about camp to send their child in 3 minutes or less!
This may look like a lot, but it shouldn’t take much time at all for you to get this done and most of them will be fun! The point of this is for us to get a good idea of who you are. You don’t need any special equipment, just a cell phone will do. Please make sure that we can hear what is being said clearly. We look forward to seeing your videos and learning more about you.
