Hello folks and welcome to our first Teaser for the Unpainted Mural!

We’ve got some goodies for you today, and without much preamble let’s delveright in.

The Black Rose Empressby Ryan Lowe, artist for The Unpainted MuralComissioned by our own Ryan (not the same as the artist), this picture is intended to giveyou something to go on regarding the quality of our desired artwork.The work depicts a canonical character in a somewhat less-canonical situation: TheRoseblack after her ascension to the throne of the Scarlet Empire. Together with herLegion and other supporters she managed to take the reins of the Empire into her owncapable hands, and now she stands ready...In case you ever wanted the Roseblack to win the bid for the throne, there you go. Wishfulfilled! May it serve a campaign or two in the future as visual reference point!

But today is not just about the art itself, about the great artists we’ve already spoken to,but about a bit of the procedure. A number of fans have expressed concerns about howwe would decide which pieces of art would be comissioned. Rather then commissionthings for ourselves (which would run counter to the project’s goals) we instead handover creative control to the community at large:

The process of voting on nominations will be explained further down the line, thoughwe can already say that we’ll be going through multiple rounds of voting for the finalresults!
