Joining Facebook• You need access to the email account.• Make a web based email account for online
access.• Don't fake your first or last name as it could
ruin you later on. Nick names OK.• Don’t enter information you feel is not required.• Feel free to use a different birth date.
Remember it.• Do it yourself. Do not get anyone else to set it

Keeping Private• Understand the icons.• Do not put anything on FB that is private.• Stranger danger applies to the Internet.• I dislike children’s images being used for
profiles.• Do not friend anyone you personally do not
know.• Tell people if you do not want your images on
FB.• FB will gather information to profile the

Keeping Private• When you delete an account, it is permanently
deleted from Facebook.• Face recognition – opt out.• Control tagging of images yourself.
