Kauppatori 2(Market Square) 2. Market open: Mon-Sat, in the sum-mer also Sun. Havis Amanda Fountain (Ville Vallgrn, 1908). The blue building by the square is the City Hall and the pale yellow one furt-her down is the Presidential Palace. There are ferry and water bus services to Suo-menlinna Sea Fortress and in the summer to Korkeasaari Zoo.To the right stands the Orthodox Uspensky Cathed-ral.

Senaatintori 2 (Senate Square) 2. The Neoc-lassical ensemble around the Senate Square was created by the German-born archi-tect C.L. Engel in the early 19th century. To the right of the Helsinki Cathedral is the Palace of the Council of State, to the left the main building of the University of Helsinki and the Natio-nal Library of Finland. The statue in the square depicts Emperor Alexander II (Walter Runeberg, 1894).

Aleksanterinkatu 2Aleksanterinkatu is one of the citys busiest shopping streets.

Mikonkatu 2In the northern side of the square you see the Finnish National Theatre (Onni Tar-janne, 1902). In the front of it, a statue of the writer Aleksis Kivi (Win Aaltonen, 1939).

To the left, the Ateneum Art Museum (Theodor Hjer, 1887) which houses the largest collections of art in Finland.

Rautatieasema 2Central Railway Station (Eliel Saarinen, 1918). Access to an underground shopping area and to the metro as well as an HSL service point. At the Mannerheimintie junction, to the right Lasipalatsi (Glass Palace), and the monument of President J.K. Paasikivi (Harry Kivijrvi, 1980). On the opposite side of the street the Main Post Office, Sanoma House (Jan Sderlund and Antti-Matti Siikala, 1995), the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma (Steven Holl, 1998) and the equestrian stattue of C.G. Mannerheim, the Marshall of Finland (Aimo Tukiainen, 1960). Next the Helsinki Music Centre (Marko Kivist, Ola Laiho and Mikko Pulkkinen 2011), across the street the Parliament Building (J.S. Sirn1924-31) and the National Museum. On the opposite side of the street the City Museum (Villa Hakasalmi) and Finlandia Hall (Alvar Aalto, 1962-75).

Simonkatu 2To the right the Kamppi cen- tre housing a shopping cent-re, bus terminal and metro station. In front of the centre in Narinkkatori, the entre- preneur statue (Eva Lfdahl, 2006). Opposite the centre

in the old bus station, the City Planning Departments information and exhibition space Laituri.

Kamppi(M) 2To the right Tennis Palace (Helge Lundstrm, 1937) which houses a movie theat-re and the Tennis Palace Art Museum. Nearby in Malmin-katu Helsinki Synagogue.

Kauppakorkeakoulut 2Straight ahead to the right Aalto University School of Economics (Hugo Harmia and Woldemar Baeckman, 1950) and to the left Han-ken School of Economics (Swedish language business school) (Kurt Simberg, 1951-1953). Behind on Arkadi-ankatu the Natural History Museum and the statue Elk (Jussi Mntynen, 1924).

A day ticketis your key to getting around in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The tickets available on single-charge cards allow you to get around with ease and at low-cost for 1-7 days.

Single tickets can be purchased from drivers and ticket machines, or by mobile phone.

A mobile ticketcan be ordered by sending an SMS A 1 to 16355. In return, you will receive a single ticket that is valid for one hour on the metro, trams, Suomenlinna ferry, eastern metro feeder buses and VRs commuter trains within Helsinki. Please make sure that you have received the ticket before boarding a vehicle or entering the metro platform area. The service is available with connections of Aina (+GoMobile-prepaid), DNA, Elisa (no prepaid), Kolumbus, Saunalahti, Sonera and Tele Finland. The price of the ticket will be included in your phone bill.

Tram tickets are valid only on trams. The ticket allows you to transfer from one tram to another within one hour. The tickets are available from ticket machines. There are no tram tickets for children.
