FOUNDED IN 1890, Henderson State University has become known for its excellent academic programs, engaging student life, and affordable tuition rates. Over the years, Henderson State has gone by many names; however, it has remained Arkansas’s SCHOOL WITH A HEART®.

From the moment you step on campus for your first visit to the day you greet the Chancellor like an old friend at graduation, you’re sure to feel the REDDIE SPIRIT alive in you.

WHAT IS A REDDIE?It’s who we are. The Reddie Spirit was born inside the student body in 1914 when the campus, the students’ beloved Henderson State, was destroyed in a fire. Determined to see the school survive, these students banded together and helped mold the institution into what it is now.

Today, the Reddie Spirit can be found in every student, professor, staff member, and alumnus of HENDERSON STATE UNIVERSITY.

HELLO, FUTURE
