ICAS Mathematics Competition 2020 Congratulations to all the students from Years 2- 7 who entered this years ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools) Mathematics competi- tion. The test questions focused on Number and Algebra, Algebra and Patterns, Measurement, Space and Geometry, and Chance and Data. All the students put in a lot of effort and thought into the work they did during practice and on the test day. Thankyou also to Troy and Brodie (our IT teach) for filming the concert, and organising the viewing links and USBs. H endon Star Award and Mark Butler Award Congratulations to Nicole Sosnowski who is the recipient of the Hendon Star Award and the Mark Butler Award. These awards are presented to the best all rounder at Hendon Primary School. Nicole has shown outstanding academic and interpersonal skills and abilities and has excelled in many extra curricular endeavours. S tudent Farewells We would like to farewell all the students and families that are leaving our school and in particular our year seven students and families who have completed their schooling at Hendon. Our year 7’s have had a very successful year utilising their keys to success – Their getting along, organization, persistence, resilience and confidence skills enable them to be successful leaders across our school. They have represented and supported our school in numerous ways including; SAPSASA events, house leaders, assembly compares, choir, Action Group Members, Peer Mediators and school monitors. They have been fabulous role models for others. We would like to wish them the very best for their futures. F arewell Peter Clarke We would like to farewell Peter Clarke our ACEO (Aboriginal Community Education Officer) who is retiring after a phenomenal 30 year career in the Department for Education, 14 of which have been at Hendon. Peter has been instrumental in establishing the Kaurna Garden at Hendon and for embedding Aboriginal culture and perspectives across our site. He has worked alongside hundreds of students and their families throughout his career supporting them with learning, attendance and connection to school. He is highly regarded across our whole school community and will be very much missed. We wish Peter the very best of wishes for his new endeavours in retirement. We wish all our families a safe and enjoyable holiday! Sue Mittiga

S chool Christmas Concert Assembly We hope that you have been able to
