herald WHAT‟S LABOUR „WHEELIE BIN‟ UP TO?
Promoted by David Agar, on behalf of Steve Mee, both of 112 Pineapple Road, Birmingham B30 2TT.
WE‟LL SCRAP THE GARDEN TAX! Steve Mee and Birmingham Conservatives pledge to bring an end to Labour’s failed and hated green waste changes
■ Causing chaos in our streets, that’s what! Residents from across Hall Green have been telling Steve Mee about the many ways Labour’s rubbish policies are blighting our community. One man from Tixall Road said: “If we don’t clear the leaves from the gutters, the road floods. Now
that we have to pay for a wheelie bin, people are less likely to do that extra work, which means the
council will end up spending more money to keep the street clear. It just doesn’t make sense.”
I‟LL FIGHT FOR A BETTER DEAL from Birmingham City Council Whether that’s scrapping the hated Garden Tax, making sure the roads are properly maintained or securing funding to keep Highfield Hall open.

TIME TO BREAK LABOUR‟S STRANGLEHOLD
■ A tired Labour council. An
invisible Labour MP. A
useless Labour Police
Commissioner. Hall Green
deserves better than this!
Labour already has two councillors in
Hall Green. Do we really want them to
have all three? Labour votes from
Sparkbrook and Springfield give it
control of the district committee that
threatened to close our library. We need
a strong voice for Hall Green in that
committee – standing up for our
interests.
And it’s the same wherever Labour goes
unchallenged. Labour’s Police
Commissioner has consistently failed to
do his job, which is to challenge the
police to improve services. Instead of
being our Iron Man, he’s become the
Invisible Man!
Conservatives have a good record of
standing up for communities across our
city. And make no mistake – if it isn’t a
Conservative councillor for Hall Green
this year, it’ll be a Labour one. At the
last elections the Liberal Democrats
finished a poor third. And fringe parties
have never got anywhere here!
The alternative is clear: more Labour
mismanagement and disregard for your
views; or a Conservative councillor who
listens to and represents YOU.

Birmingham City Council elections: 22nd of May with STEVE MEE
IT‟S A TWO HORSE RACE! Accept no imitations - only a vote for Steve Mee can stop
Hall Green ending up with another Labour councillor.
We’ll give you REAL CHOICE and MORE CONTROL No more phoney consultations on wheelie bins or speed limits. More con-trol over your pension and a real EU referendum. Here to listen to you.
I’ll be your CHAMPION for jobs and local business Supporting policies that have rescued our economy and proven Labour wrong. Campaigning to improve shops rather than close them down!
STEVE MEE‟S PLAN FOR A BETTER HALL GREEN
CONSERVATIVES: WORKING HARD FOR HALL GREEN
Rubbish bags and street litter - abandoned by Labour!
A lady on Painswick Road asked Steve
to help her. “I ordered a green wheelie
bin and paid my £35. That was weeks
ago. I’ve given up and just want my
money back.”
Steve says: “Labour sits back and does
nothing while its £62 million pet
project turns our pavements into
rubbish heaps.
“That’s why a Conservative-run council
would immediately scrap Labour’s
hated garden tax, refund every
resident who forked out for this failed
policy and reinstate kerbside
collections for garden waste.”

A TORY COUNCIL = A BETTER BIRMINGHAM
We would tackle street
litter and pavement
clutter, with dog and
litter teams for Hall
Green and other local
areas and a dedicated
Pride in Hall Green
street-cleaning crew.
We would give Hall
Green and other wards
£100,000 each for
community projects like
Highfield Hall.
We would stop playing politics with our
children’s education – Hall Green
Library and other libraries would stay
open! The city’s library network would
also be improved to allow easier access
to this fantastic resource.
We would help you access local
shopping centres by introducing four
hours free parking in all district car
parks.
We would improve safety on our streets
by keeping street lights on all night,
retaining CCTV cameras, setting up a
fund to fix potholes quickly and
keeping school crossing patrols.
Birmingham Conservatives have launched our manifesto for May’s
elections. Here’s why a Conservative council would be good news
for Hall Green and all its people.
Hall Green Conservatives, working
hard for a better Birmingham.
PRIMARY SCHOOL FEARS OVER LIB DEM “RECIPE FOR CHAOS”
Local primary schools have expressed concern
that the Liberal Democrats' new policy of giving
free school meals for all infants - heralded by
their leader Nick Clegg as "really good news" - is
about to create chaos for school finances.
The BBC has reported that the policy, cooked up
by Nick Clegg as part of a coalition compromise,
will cause major funding cuts for local primary
schools - as their "pupil premium" funding
depends on which parents apply for free school
meal status.
What's more, one in three schools do not have
adequate kitchen facilities - and at a time of
government austerity, the Lib Dems, with Labour
egging them on, are extorting over £150m of
your money to pay for it all.
Steve Mee describes the situation as "a recipe
for disaster! The Lib Dem candidate calls this
progress but money is being taken away from
the neediest children and served up to the
children of millionaires. What's more, this is one
Lib Dem gimmick cannibalising another - it all
shows they're just not fit for office!"
