PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
I would like to start my report by thanking everybody for making our club such a great one and a joy to be President of. It is hard to believe another year has already passed. This has been a thoroughly rewarding as well as testing time for our Valley. The loss of two club cars, the damage and destruction of member’s homes in the Tathra fires, the closeness of the other Bega fire, sickness, new members, new cars, people leaving all have added to an interesting year. Having said that once again I have thoroughly enjoyed my second year in the position of President. I will be standing for one more year as President and whether I am re-elected or some-one else is at the helm I am just glad to be a part of this Club. Being president is such an easy job when you have such a great group to work with and who support our club.
As I stated last year, a volunteer club, even with like-minded people runs on the back of its volunteers and the willingness of members to be involved. Our club is blessed to have this occur. Last year we saw our long standing Secretary and Treasurer retire after many years of faithful service. This year we have seen two more people raise their hands and do exceptional jobs in the positions of Secretary and Treasurer. To Rhonda Leggett and Alan Smith a special thanks from me as well as on behalf of the members. As Lyn Murphy and Barb Black will confirm, most members have little idea what is involved in these jobs nor the amount of time you spend helping to keep our club be the wonderful one it is.
As we know the newsletter is often the life line of any club to its members. To Lorraine Exell I extend my huge thanks for only being our trial editor and continuing for the whole year. Your product reflects the wonderful commitment so many members have to our organisation. I hope you have agreed to go around again next year, and the year after and ...

To Anthony Dack and his assistant registrars, Henry Petterson, Russell Napper, Garry Thornton and Gary Smith, Thank you. I know this can be a laborious job especially on Rego Day but you all give so willingly. Thanks to those of you who also travel out to people’s places to check their cars. I know I appreciate it immensely.
To our events coordinators, Col McRae/ Ray Ubrihien/ Russell Napper and Lyn Murphy our thank you for finding new places to visit and taking us back to the ones we’ve enjoyed in the past..
To our Vice President Geoff Exell and our assistant secretary Carolyn Cole, thank you both for filling in the breach when one of us was away. (Also to Ray Ubrihien for his contribution.)
To our faithful accountant Howard Haynes who now lives in South Australia. Howard, again we are thankful for your many years of service.
And to our Librarian Tony Watson who always flies under the radar, thank you for keeping our books together… one day I might even ask what we have.
To those faithful people who bring food for supper each month, who help clean up afterwards, to those who support our runs and events, I thank you, without you we would not be the Club we are.
As already indicated I have again enjoyed my opportunities to get to know many of you better this year as I have been able to join in on our mid-week runs. Even the shortest runs give me the opportunity to spend time with people who make our club such a great one.
I am thankful for the 2018 year and our club. I trust those members who put their hands up to take positions in 2019 will have an equally great year.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Andrew Duchesne is thankful for being a part of our Club.
Andrew spoke of his recent trip to Sydney to pick up a car he purchased some months ago.
He spoke about an avid car collector who recently passed away and that he has hundreds of cars stored in sheds. Andrew said he is now in the process of cleaning out his collection and is only keeping those he can drive.
Who’s got new cars or sold cars?? Reinhold Goersch (visitor) spoke of his VW Split windscreen Kombi,
BMW K100 motorbike and 1989 Ford Capri currently under restoration. Reinhold advised he is suffering from seller’s remorse after selling his Isabella Borgward.
GENERAL BUSINESS:
Lorraine Exell advised Joycelyn Clark fell at Tathra Hall and broke her ankle. Joycelyn is currently in Bega Hospital (Surgical Ward, bed 12).
Alan Smith spoke about how cheques are going to be phased out over the next few years and alternatives need to be looked into as cheques seem to be taking up to ten (10) days to clear. Alan researched various alternatives:
Option 1 Debit card separate account with limited funds but would cost $2 per month account keeping fees.
Option 2 Online banking from the two (2) to sign account to make payments or pay accounts. This option has checks in place to see which sign-on has made the online payments.
Option 3 External transfer voucher which includes the payee details (BSB and Account Number). The voucher is signed by two (2) authorised account signatories and given to Horizon Credit Union to process. The funds should appear in the payee’s account within two (2) days. There is no charge for this service and it has always been an option.
Option 4 One-off BPay Voucher which operates the same as Option 3 with the Payee having BPay.
Andrew Duchesne moved that Option 3 be implemented. Seconded: Garry Twyford Carried
Bob and Nola Russell were congratulated on their 50 years of marriage, and Bob kindly responded that he has had Nola for 50 years and his Falcon for 40 years and both are not for sale!
Henry Petterson said the meeting room is way too noisy and is there something that can be done about the fridge/freezer noise. (Discussion held and next meeting a new table format will be trialled.)
Wayne Milford advised he and Sue unfortunately won’t be at the Christmas luncheon as they are flying out to South Korea three days later. Wayne wanted to thank Ray Ubrihien, Russell Napper, Henry Petterson, Neil Wood
8
and Graham Peterson for all their help throughout the year. Wayne also said the support from many other members is greatly appreciated by both Sue and himself.
Rhonda Leggett said at the end of the club financial year (31st October) only 55.6 % of members were financial. Rhonda emailed the Compliance and Regulatory Services Department of the RMS who confirmed that the registered operator under a conditional registration scheme (HVS or CVS) must be a financial member of an approved club. If a member is not financial, their vehicle is unregistered / uninsured. Rhonda advised that the club is obliged under is operating guidelines with the RMS , that the secretary MUST advise the RMS of any non-financial members who have a vehicle operating under a conditional registration scheme. Discussion was held with the members present at the meeting, and it was agreed that renewals will be sent out in July and a notation will be added to the club newsletter.
Garry Twyford raised that members need to check their 60 day log book sheet for the correct dates if renewing their registration prior to the due date. When Garry renewed his condition registration three (3) months early, the RMS Staff member filled out the 60 day log book sheet from that date, instead of the actual registration renewal date.
Henry Petterson spoke of the Bombala Engine Show and what a great display it was. Henry was rather disappointed he was the only one from our Club and also the only one from the Pambula Club. Henry said we should make sure we support the Bombala Engine Show next year.
Ray Ubrihien said he received a thank you letter from the Collingswood Garden organisers for our clubs support at their recent garden show. They raised $2600 for CanAssist which is a great effort.
Lyn Murphy reminded members present that the Christmas Luncheon is this Saturday at Club Sapphire in the Tasman Room at 11.30am.
Graham Peterson spoke about his recent trip to the Torana Nations at Canberra which was a great show with over 230 Torana’s on display.
Alison Napper reminded everyone that the Mid-Week run is a week early due to Christmas and is on 13th December to Kianinny Bay.
Neil Wood asked if we are doing the $10 gift at this weekend’s Christmas luncheon, which was confirmed that each person is to bring a $10 gift for Santa to give out.
Alan Smith said he has multiple receipts and please come and collect them.
Col McRae said the sweeps were a success and all the monies have been handed out. If you didn’t get an envelope, you didn’t win!
Andrew Duchesne said one thing I didn’t bring up at the AGM due to this will have a lot of discussion and I wanted to allow the time:
The committee met recently to discuss some amendments to the Constitution; now we want to bring those amendments to the meeting to have them ratified.
All the recommendations were carried unanimously and with some members abstaining. Except for four (4) members who voted against the committee only meeting when necessary. This however was carried by the majority of members.
Note: Amended Constitution will be provided to all members.
