The RAP module from OSRAM combines pioneering LED technology with forward-looking lighting to meet the highest standards. Hess luminaires combined with the OSRAM LED module are ideal for a host of lighting requirements on streets, squares and pedestrian crossings.

XICATO is a high-performance LED module. The special remote phosphor technology behind it ensures superior characteristics, such as very high colour fidelity, for example, throughout the product‘s service life. Superior colour rendering is a distinctive feature here, with a colour rendering index (CRI) of 80+.

LEVO

From streets to squares, from illuminating columns to pole top mounted or bracket mounted luminaires – by deploying special lenses and arranging LEDs in multiple configurations, the LEVO module is highly flexible and complies with a range of lighting classes.

cLED EASY

LED retrofit modules for heritage luminaires. Thanks to the bulb optics and warm light colour, these modules fit harmoniously into historic Old Town districts and make it easy to replace the mercury-vapour lamps, which are often still in use. Heritage lighting made by other manufacturers can also be converted using cLED easy.

Facet element

In order to illuminate a street or square to perfection, mirrored surfaces are fitted

with various facet shapes. Similar facet shapes can also be used in

different ways to focus light onto the mirrored area.

High illumination levels almost without glare are made possible by the principle

of light beam image splitting. Light from one or more floodlights

is directed onto a mirrored surface containing many individual mirror facets.

The mirrored surface acts as a secondary reflector and distributes light onto the

area for illumination very evenly and in a targeted way.

The fronts of special plastic facet are metallised using pure aluminium.

As a result, the light does not need to pass through diffuse plastic. This increases

efficiency and the precision of light direction. A multi-layer protective seal gives the

mirrored surface its rugged quality.

C U S T O M I S E DVEDO and FARO luminaires make customised solutions possible in

various lighting situations – from small or large squares to combined square and

City Elements offer architects and urban planners a comprehensive lighting system to

answer virtually every lighting need and more.

Because the individual elements can be combined as desired, the

system enables a variety of supply options. Solutions include water supply,

Nordeon´s history starts way more than 100 years ago and at the same time in 2012.

The lighting industry is undergoing intense change. Demand for energy efficiency is rising

all the time, with efficient LED luminaires advancing in leaps and bounds. The Nordeon

Group is helping to drive this development, while at the same time striving to conserve

resources and advocating the use of energy-efficient LED lighting.

A proven track record

Nordeon became established in Springe, Germany, following the takeover of the

production facility there from Philips in 2012. The Nordeon Group now brings together the

high level of expertise and strong reputation of former Philips sites in Springe (Germany),

Chalon-sur-Saône and Dijon (both in France) with two influential, established German

companies specialising in outdoor lighting: Vulkan of Springe and Hess of Villingen.

Since March 2015, the Italian company Griven, located in Castel Goffredo, a leading enter-

prise in the growth market of architectural lighting, is part of the group of companies. And

finally, since February 2016, the premium German indoor lighting company WILA is part of

the Nordeon Group – an important step for us and our customers.

Launched in April 2013, InstallerDirect.com is a highly innovative new venture –

The more slender version for local streets comes with a diameter of 180 mm. The thicker variant with 230 mm for heights up to 9 metre is ideal for plazas and pedestrian zones. With two diff erent diameters, the best suiting proportion is readily available for nearly every application in public spaces.

For a total height of 3500 mm, the embedded base’s required length is 600 mm. If the total height is between 3500 and 6000 mm, a 800-mm embedded base is necessary. Heights between 6000 and 8000 require embedded bases with 1000-mm length, and 8000- to 10,000-mm high columns should have 1200-mm long embedded bases. For other column heights, use the City Elements Confi gurator to determine the appropriate embedded base length.

Hess in-ground luminaires come in two load classes: 1.5 t without installation sleeve, which are only suitable for walk-over appli-cations. 5 t with installation sleeve, which are suitable for applications in which infrequent roll-over may occur. The designation “rollover” means the in-ground luminaires can handle the occasional load (in emergencies) of vehicles passing over them, provided the speed doesn’t exceed 20 km/h and the wheel load doesn’t exceed 5 t. Turning, braking and acceleration on the in-ground luminaire must be avoided.

The in-ground luminaires are not suitable for immersion in water, i.e. underwater applications. To ensure safe operation, an adequate drainage system must be provided. In addition, they must be installed no less than 3 mm above the fin shed ground surface.

The in-ground luminaires surfacetemperature may reach up to 70°Cdepending on the lamp.This is to be taken into account when planning accessible areas.

Electrical installation requires a cable junction box. The in-ground luminaires come equipped with a 2 m connecting cable for connection to a distribution box, e.g. cable junction box (supplied by others).

For added slip protection in wet conditions, special glass plates are available for public areas with special anti-slip application (DIN 51130 R 11-compliant).

Caution! Corrosive chemicals and substances will damage the luminaires. Do not allow the luminaires to come in contact with such agents.

Read the assembly instructions carefully before beginning with installation or maintenance.

Hess lighting systems comply with national and international safety and protection regulations. The applicable indications are displayed on the rating plates.

Excluding the luminaires with Class III protection rating, all Hess luminaires are designed to operate with 230 V, 50 Hz supply voltage in compliance with DIN-IEC 38.

ENECThe ENEC mark (European Norms Electrical Certifi ation) is a European approval and certifi ation marking for lighting fix ures and electrical components used in lighting systems. It certifi s that a product complies with currently applicable European standards and signifi s that inspection by the respective testing institute has been performed. The ENEC marking appears together with the identifi ation number of the national testing institute and is often displayed with the institute’s logo. Every Hess product is CE-compliant. ENEC certifi ates are available for selected models in the various product families.

CEThe CE marking signifi s that the product conforms to all the essential requirements of all relevant EU directives. It is applied to the luminaire, packaging or accompanying documents by the manufacturer or importer. It is not the mark of any particular approval institute.

The luminaires are designated in three classes according to the protection they provide against high contact voltage.

Protection rating I: Luminaires in this class have basic electrical insulation and all of their potentially electrically conductive parts are connected to a protective conductor. The protective conductor displays this marking.

Protection rating II: Live parts are fit ed with additional insulation. Connection to a protec-tive conductor is not permitted.

Protection rating III: Luminaires in this class operate on safety low voltage (SELV) and require no extra protective measures.

Hess offe s the following selection of DB, mica, soft and RAL colours. Additional colours are available upon request.

Hess paints are applied using a state-of-the-art coating process. The colours are the result of multiple coats and closely correspond to the Federal (German) Road and Civil Engineering Research Institute’s colour tint chart (BAST). High-quality coating materials from Du Pont are used.
