What is a credit?A unit of credit is granted for work completed in a subject meeting one period daily for two terms or every other day for four terms.
How many credits can students earn each year?
8 each year4 each semester
How many credits does a student need to qualify for
graduation?28 credits to graduate
Opportunity to earn 32 (4 years x 8 credits)
How do credits add up?
Freshman=9th grade, 8 creditsSophomore=10th grade, 16 credits
Junior=11th grade, 24 creditsSenior=12th grade, 32 credits

What is an elective credit? How may elective credits does a student
need to graduate?A course /credit a student chooses based on their career or personal
interests. A student must complete 12 elective credits.
What is a required credit? How many required credits are needed
to graduate?
A course/credit that all students must complete in order to graduate. All
students must complete 16 required credits.
What is a transcript and why is it important?
A transcript is an academic record that includes a student’s GPA. Grade point average= classes taken and grades earned with points. A transcript is an
official document required by colleges, military, and some employers as proof of
high school graduation.

How do I figure my GPA? A= 4 points B= 3 points C= 2 points
D=1 point F= 0 points
Add the total points and divide by the number of classes and you have your GPA.
If a student fails a class their freshman year do they have to
repeat their entire year?
No. If a student fails a required subject, that class has to be repeated.
What happens if a student fails an elective class?
The student won’t earn credit for the class. The student may repeat the
same class or take a different elective class. It will affect your GPA.
How long is recess?
No recess in high school! All work, no play and a 5-7
minute break between classes.
So what do I need to graduate?
