Welcome to Henderson Hills

Baptist Church! If this is your first

time to visit us, I would like to

invite you to our Guest Reception

area in the Gathering outside

the Worship Center. A pastor

will be there to welcome you

and would love the opportunity

to answer any questions you

may have about HHBC. But no

matter how long you’ve been here—first-time guest

and long-time member alike—we’re glad you’re here

to worship with us.

In John 7—which we’ll be studying together this

weekend—Jesus says, “If anyone thirsts, let him come

to me and drink” (v. 37). As a church, may we look to

Jesus alone for the lasting satisfaction our souls crave!

I’m grateful for the opportunity to worship our Savior

alongside you today!

Brandon Shafer,

Associate Pastor of Training & Membership

NEXT STEPS

NEW INTERIM PREACHERDR. HEATH THOMAS

Dr. Heath Thomas was installed

as Dean of the Hobbs College for

Theology and Ministry in December

2015. He also serves as Associate

Vice President for Church Relations

and Professor of Old Testament at

OBU. Prior to arriving at Oklaho-

ma Baptist University, Dr. Thomas

served as Director of Ph.D. Studies

and Associate Professor of Old Tes-

tament and Hebrew at Southeast-

ern Baptist Theological Seminary in

Wake Forest, North Carolina.

An OBU graduate (1998), Dr. Thomas

also holds degrees from Southwest-

ern Baptist Theological Seminary

and the University of Gloucester-

shire (UK). Dr. Thomas has served

on staff at churches in Oklahoma,

Texas, North Carolina, and in the

United Kingdom. Passionate about

opening up the Scriptures for today,

he preaches and teaches regularly,

and serves as interim pastor when

he is able. Dr. Thomas is married to

Jill and they have four children (Har-

rison, Isabelle, Simon, and Sophia).

As the Elder Council has gotten to

know Dr. Thomas, we have come to

realize that we align very well with

him and he has served as an elder

in other churches. We feel very com-

fortable having him as our interim

preacher and look forward to how

the Lord will use him to teach the

Word here at Henderson Hills.
