Mini lights? Icicle lights? Rope lights? Easy net lights? The good news is there are now more Energy Star rated choices than ever. These will not only look beautiful, but they can help keep your holiday electricity bill from spiking. LED lights use much less energy than regular bulbs; and as an added bonus, they don't burn as hot so they are safer around children and pets too.
Another way to reduce the holiday lighting bill is to use a timer on both your indoor and outdoor lights. This way you can time your lights to be on during peak viewing time, and they will automatically turn off to help you avoid leaving them on all night.
