HOLOGRAPHY
Holography is a method of producing a three-dimensional (3-D) image of an object (based on hight, width, and depth)
http://bit.ly/1UREWIK
HOLO-TEMPLATE
• The medical field:• research, enabling many doctors to examine a
subject in three dimensions !
• holograms can "jump" mediums - hologram made with X rays can be viewed later in white light with increased magnification and depth !
• Acoustic (sound) imaging - often used in place of X-ray spectroscopy due to its non-intrusive nature
IMPACT
• Computer data storage• Magnetic disks, the most common storage device, are
two dimensional, and have limited storage capacity !• Because of its three-dimensional nature, a hologram
can store much more information!• Optical memories store large amounts of binary data
(zeroes and ones) in groups of small holograms!• Viewed by the computer using special lighting, these
groups display a 3-D image full of information
IMPACT
MAKE YOUR OWN
• Record a video
• Select any video or picture from your device
• Use a converter like Holapex, Video Hologram, PowerDirector, Holus, or Holho, to instantly convert the media into a video usable for your Hologram Pyramids (no need for any coding or hard editing)
• Build or buy a pyramid

4D Print
4D printing, where the fourth dimension is time/light/heat/moisture, etc, will allow us to print objects that can reshape
themselves, self-assemble or self-destruct over time
WHAT
• PBL
• STEM/STEAM
• Robotics
• Biomedical
• Environmental
• CompSci
HOW
• Applied math
• Drafting & Design (auto, graphics, fashion)
• Creative - FabLab
• Capstone
• Science and medical simulations & prototypes
WHERE
• STEM/Science
• Math
• Conceptual modeling - CS
• Creative process - Arts, Design, Robotics
MAKE IT HAPPEN• Help your students find a need
• Ask them to imagine a solution
• Design it in 3D
• Prototype it via hologram (where applicable)
• If tessellations/kinetic/electronic/robotics, procure the materials (lots of sponsors out there!)
• If empathy project - print in 3D and ship to user
Now spark your students’ imagination and let’s build the future!
