ANIMALSGhana has a lot of interesting animals. Some of them are: elephants, hippos, lions and crocodiles. An interesting place to visit is Ta Atome which has a special home for 350 Mona monkeys. They are cared for by the people who live nearby and are so tame you can feed them by hand. They love to eat bananas. Would you like to feed a monkey?

A monkey!What kind of a key opens a

banana?

What did the banana say to the monkey?

Nothing. Bananas can‛t

talk!

GAMESSoccer is the most popular game in Ghana. Have you ever played soccer?

FORGIVENESSForgiving others is hard to do when you are still feeling hurt. By forgiving others it doesn’t mean that you think what the other person did is okay, it just means that you have made the decision to not hold it against him or her. Forgiveness is some-thing you do for yourself even though the other person may not yet be sorry. Ask God to help you forgive others and help you get over your hurt more easily.

TRANSPORTATIONGhana has lots of ways to get to places. One way is by riding in a tro-tro. Tro-tros are small trucks or mini buses. You may have to wait for it to move though because the driver won’t leave until he has every seat lled!

We were so happy to hear from Elizabeth Schulz and our friends in St. Andrew’s Parish , Fraser Lake, BC. They have supported the HCA for many years now under the direc-tion of Father Vincent James, Broth-er Roy Joseph and Brother Walter Lobos. The youth of the parish held their annual Christmas rae and had fun raising a lot of money for HCA children.

Special thanks to Ryerson Kunz and Kaden Gram-lich from Our Lady of Lourdes School, West Kelowna, BC. On their 6th birthday they asked that instead of gifts, their friends donate to the HCA. They hope to inspire HCA members in Canada to think of children in other coun-tries who do not have clothes, schools and medicine like we do here in Canada. Special thanks to mothers Claire Gram-lich and Angie Kunz.

Our friends in Grade 1 at St. Joan of Arc School in Regina, SK held a candy guessing contest. Each guess cost 25 cents. They wanted to show that they cared about other children in Mission countries.

The HCA began in Vancouver, Canada in 1933. Since then, we have had constant support from the Archdiocese of Vancouver. They organize a HCA Mission Day on the rst Wednesday of May each year. We are deeply grateful for their support. This year Archbishop J. Michael Miller said Mass at St. Patrick’s Church on May 6, 2014. Special thanks to Diocesan director Sister Mary Ellen Burns and Doreen Dominguez.

BRAVO VANCOUVER!... BRAVO VANCOUVER!... BRAVO VANCOUVER!...

Thank you for your loving support.

Well done young missionaries!

Well done all!
